I am still mad at the MDA for graciously screwing up my brand-new DVDs.

I ordered some Black Lagoon R2 DVDs from amazon japan a few months ago. Spent over 300 bucks on them,and I wanted to keep them in mint,or at least tip-top condition. The DVDs arrived just a few days after ordering. Nice,such efficiency. When I opened the box,I was greeted by the artbox casings which came with the limited edition DVDS. Where the hell did my DVDs go?!?! Attached to the receipt was a freaking pamphlet given by the MDA. DHL decided to get smart and send my DVDs to that goddammed censorship board for checking. I called the MDA up and realised that I had to pay$1.50 per DVD… Since when did I have to pay such money for importing DVDs.

I went over to the MDA a few days later to collect my DVDs. Just when I arrived there,they were pasting the rating stickers on my DVDs. WTF?! My DVDs were already out of their wrappings and now you want to paste those fugly stickers on the casings,without my permission. I examined my DVDs,and it did not take much to notice that my DVD casings were scratched up quite badly,with white fugly stickers pasted right on the DVD casings.I told the person at the counter that my casings were damaged,but all she could do was say “There’s nothing we can do”. WHAT THE HELL!!!! First,my DVDs were taken away by the MDA,then the casings were scratched.Plus,I had to pay for the fugly stickers. Who the hell wants the stickers. In my fit of anger,I tore up the receipt from the MDA on the spot after making the payment. I had to pay or the DVDs would not be given to me.

Seriously,screw the MDA. What right do they have to damage my DVD covers? Fuck,there’s a huge problem with this entire country’s censorship. We just need some idiotic parents who complain about their children imitating Superman and the authorities were about to put an NC-16 rating on Superman Returns. How stupid can the censorship board get? And Battle Royale got banned,while it was only R-15 in Japan. Even Shakugan no Shana’s had the subs changed from “Brother”to “Master”. The censorship is really what I hate about Singapore.And don’t get me started on the other reasons why I wanna get out of here.

Let’s say u put a rating of M-18 on a movie with gore,violence and even sex. Those below 18 who are unable to watch the movie,but want to do so have to find other means to get it. That means buying pirated dvds etc. Strict censorship laws only promote piracy.Also,age is not suitable for judging if a person is or is not allowed to consume media that is rated. People above the restricted age may not behave their age,while those below that age might be much more mature than the their age (eg. Darkmirage ).

Good Job on trying to censor everything related to any form of media,MDA.And “Thank You” MDA for screwing up my stuff that I bought with my hard-earned holiday job money.Singapore might as well censor the Internet and we can soon go back to the stone age.

Good riddance of censorship once I finish National Service. I’m going to find whatever ways and means possible to move over to the land of the rising sun.
