Ever since I watched the episode of Nagasarete Airantou that has Suzu going crazy over Mame Daifuku, I’ve been wanting to have a taste of it. Is it really that nice?
Suzu says it is. Or is it??
So,when I headed over to Ngee Ann City today, I spotted a shop in the food section(basement 2) selling Japanese tibits. In the end ,I bought a peach-flavoured mochi, a Mame Daifuku as well as an ice-cream Dorayaki. I only managed to take pictures of the Mame Daifuku, as those 2 are nothing really special. The Dorayaki was really good though. The next time I go there, I’m going to get more ^^
Anyway,here’s how a Mame Daifuku looks like.

Mame Daifuku is basically rice dough filled with sesame paste. You can chew it like a mochi.I wouldn’t recommend people with bracers to do so,as you will regret it.
After eating Mame Daifuku, I think that its not as nice as it seems. Sure,it’s chewy. It’s also sweet,but still not as sweet as the peach mochi. I don’t really like it,but the taste is still acceptable and you won’t puke from eating it. I doub’t I’ll eat Mame Daifuku again.
But then again, I guess it’s all up to personal preference. Those who like sesame paste might like it.

Oh,and Suzu will get diabetes at the rate she’s stuffing herself with Mame Daifuku.

I’m sure the home-made mame daifuku Suzu just loves to wolf down on the island tastes much better than the store-bought variety.
Diabetes? You’re probably right, although she probably burns off all that sugar in an instant (what with all that manual labour). And she’s managed to keep her figure thus far. ^_^
Yea, the store-bought ones might not be as good as homemade ones, as they’re not as fresh. Fresh ones might taste better. But then again,I don’t really like sesame paste.

Suzu is so funny when it comes to Mame Daifuku.
so did when i saw Suzu eat them they looked really tasty i thought i was a cake or sumtin, but in the anime it looks more tempting than the pictures shown hehe ^_^

I’m longing to get my paws on some Mame daifuku. I love how suzu gets over it jaja. though, it doesn’t look like in the anime and probably don’t taste as good as suzu says, but curiosity is killing me
