One Piece Live Action Play?!

I was browsing around in Kinokuniya earlier today, and saw this in the latest issue of Shonen Jump.

One Piece goes LIVE. Gomu-gomu-no- …!

As usual, lousy quality pictures with a 2 megapixel handphone camera. Damn if I had a portable scanner(is there even such a thing ?!), I’d scan this interesting piece of news.

Seems like there’s going to be a live action play of One Piece in Universal Studios, Osaka, from the 27th of July till the 2nd of September. The picture seems pretty interesting, although I don’t really like the look of the real life characters. They don’t really look that much alike to the anime versions. The real-life picture of the villain, however, seems promisingly alike to the animated picture. Seems like the evil-doers are easier to be presented out in real-life more accurately than the good guys.

Too bad I won’t be able to watch this. I wonder how they gonna do the Gomu-Gomu effects. And what the hell, where’s Chopper?! I guess they can’t include our furry little reindeer friend into this play,or can they?

Hope that there’s gonna be a video of this play released, just like the Prince of Tennis one. I’ll be looking forward to this ^^ .

Oh and I also bought Shonen Ace August 2007. There’s an Eva fan included with it,but I haven’t opened it. It looks good though,so I’m going to post up pictures of it tomorrow, or soon I guess.

It can’t be. It simply can’t be. The Prince of Tennis musicals were cruel enough, but this - it’s just . . . inhuman. Surely there’s an article in the Geneva Conventions that outlaws this kind of thing.

(Naturally, I jest. I’d probably watch it too if I had the chance.)

That, dear fellow, is the 64-billion-yen question. Someone had better dash to YouTube right after the first show and give us the answer!

Haha, too bad there isn’t any Chopper in the picture. And the live version of Luffy looks like a female -.-”
