Tekkon Kinkreet

This animated film came out quite sometime, but I only discovered it recently. I was listening to Asian Kungfu Generation’s single Aru Machi no Gunjou(ある街の群青),which happened to be the theme song featured in the film.

According to wikipedia:

Tekkon Kinkreet (鉄コン筋クリート, Tekkon Kinkinkurito?, literally a combination of the Japanese terms for “iron,” “concrete,” and “muscles”) (also known as Tekkonkinkreet in English release) is a 2006 feature-length Japanese anime film, directed by Michael Arias and animated by Studio 4°C, adapted from Black and White, a one-volume seinen manga series by Taiyō Matsumoto, which was originally serialized between 1993 and 1994 in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits. It was first released in Japan on December 23, 2006. The story takes place in the fictional Takara Machi (”Treasure City”) and centers on a pair of street kids: the tough, canny Kuro (”Black”) and the childish, snot-nosed Shirō (”White”). Together they are known as Neko (”Cats”).

I haven’t watched it yet,and have only managed to obtain the raw version of it. The film seems pretty colourful, and the artwork seems quite unique. Although my Japanese is really bad, I think I’m still going to watch this. I hope that its going to be good.

Oh,and Kazunari Ninomiya(Arashi member) is voicing Kuro. I hope that his voice-acting is as good as his acting. He did well in Jdoramas such as Stand Up, as well as in the movie “Letters from Iwo Jima”.
