Attack of the Calendars

KKnM has just updated their website, and are currently taking preorders for 2008 calendars.

Man,I have so many calendars that I want, but it’s just not practical to get them all. Sigh…

These are the following ones that I desire:

  • Evangelion: New Movie Version
    ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版
  • Ghost in the Shell S.A.C
    攻殻機動隊 S.A.C
  • Detective Conan
    名探偵コナン
  • Dragon Quest
    デルトラクエスト
  • Gurren Lagaan
    天元突破グレンラガン
  • Claymore
    クレイモア

Now,that’s a lot of calendars that I want. I doubt I even have enough wall space to hold them all if I bought all of them. I’m definitely getting the Evangelion calendar, all thanks to the Eva fanboy within me. I hope for more Rei and less Asuka ^^

As for the rest, I’ll have to think about it. I don’t wanna buy and leave the calendar in some dark corner in my cupboard, just like what I did with the Detective Conan 2007 calendar. I will have to wait for the pictures before I can come to a final decision. I certainly hope that decision does not do too much harm to my wallet and bank account,or I’m pretty screwed.

Belongings on you which show your Otaku side

I’m sure most anime fans out there would carry a keychain or two with them, and take these anime-related items with them no matter where they go.

I am guilty of such an act too. Fortunately,I only have 2 such items with me all the time. The rest of my otaku merchandise is kept hidden in my room.

First up,a keychain which happens to be a present from Zer0.

Digi Charat Keychain

I never leave my house without my keys, and this DiGi Charat keychain has been attached to my key ring every since the day I got it.

Next up,an item which I just recieved today.

Kino no Tabi : Afterthoughts

The world is not beautiful, therefore it is.

This phrase is so true. The world is never a perfect beautiful one,but still, it is beautiful because of the flaws it has.

The storyline of Kino no Tabi is a rather simple one. Kino, a traveller, travels from country to country, staying 3 days each country, irregardless of how the country is. So, since it has such a simple storyline, one would say that this anime would only be fitting for little kids. But,my opinions are otherwise. Why?

25/08/07 : A Day of Queuing Part 2: Natsumatsuri

Just when I thought that queuing for the day was finally over,I was wrong. It was time the second half of the day’s event,Natsumatsuri. And to think I was a little worn out from the Charafest already. Yes,I am weak.

Anyway,I met up with my CCA at EXPO for the marking of attendance before taking the chartered bus to the Japanese Primary School.

This was what greeted me when I joined the entrance queue.

25/08/07 : A Day of Queuing Part 1: Charafest 2007

This is the second time I queued up so much in a single day. The last time I did it was for the Singapore Launch of World of Warcraft : The Burning Crusade at Suntec City.

Arrived at Sunshine Plaza at around 11am with my friend, only to find quite a crowd out there already. The members were already inside thinning their wallets. Some had already come out and were at the cafe next door eating/chatting. I managed to spot a few familiar faces and had some conversations.

After getting my queue number(no. 20), my friend and I had brunch at the Wanton Mee store. As soon as we finished eating, the sale for non-members started.

While in the queue awaiting to enter KKnM,some people saw that the Lucky Star and Haruhi Telephone cards were sold out and got a little disappointed. I was a little disappointed too,as the Shana and Hayate pencil boards were sold out by the time I got there. Thankfully, there were still Gurren Lagann pencilboards remainding. I also grabbed the last Darker than Black Handphone strap, together with a Saber Comiket exclusive Plushie. The handphone strap and the plushie were unexpected purchases,so I exceeded my budget.
