Cutting down on my Figurine Expenses

I was supposed to have enough for my preordered figurines by the time they arrive.

Too bad Wonderfest screwed it up for me. Now,I suppose that I am short of about $200 for my preorders. And my trip to Chiba next month doesn’t seem to make the situation better.

Hence,I am trying to sell some of the preorders which were done on impulse.

The 2 preorders I am selling are both to be collected at Toyntoys, which is at China Square Central.

Each of the preorders have $10 deposit,so you just have to pay $10 if you are interested.

First up, Shana by Toysworks. After the $10 deposit, the price is $55.70.

And the other one would be Haruka Amami. After the $10 deposit, the price is $45.50.

Do leave a comment or email me at raynold_sim[at]hotmail[dot]com if you are interested.

*EDIT:Not selling them anymore. Thanks for looking anyway.

Song lyrics which would suit the current Odex situation

I was listening to the Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex OST 2,and when I heard the song Rise, the current ODEX fiasco came to my mind.

For those who do not know, Rise is the OP song for Ghost in the Shell : SAC 2nd GiG.It’s not in Japanese, but still cool. For those who have not heard it,please do. It’s quite addictive and catchy, even if you don’t know Russian.

Anyway,this is the part.

Save your fears
take your place
save them for the judgement day
fast and free
follow me
time to make the sacrifice
we rise or fall

This is the second part of the song’s chorus.

Don’t you think that it suits the current situation quite aptly?

And the sacrifice…

Limited Wonderfest Stuff Ain’t That Limited Anymore

I was so close to getting the WF 2007 Haruhi figurine, with all the special parts included from Latendo. And I’m glad I didn’t get it. Or I would be feeling damn stupid right now.

This made my day much better, knowing I didn’t get it.

Looks like the Haruhi is going to be released in November at 6000 yen.Much cheaper than forking out $170 for one.

Another one I wanted to get would be the Fate/Tiger Colosseum Saber Plushie, which is also to be released in November at 2500 yen. Again, much cheaper than paying close to $60.

Only bad thing, you have to be in Japan, and the order closes on 19th August. I’m going to head down to Toyntoys this Friday to ask if they take in orders. If not, then I might turn to Benny. Or I might not get at all.

Now that I have no cash, something that I want appears

Thanks to the WF,I’ve got no money left now. I even have to go work as a salesman at Comex 2007 just to be able to pay for my WF loot.

Was browsing Yahoo Japan Auctions for the prices of the WF stuff, when I chanced upon this beauty(not a WF item), going at 42,000 yen. Including shipping, it will amount up to about 55,000 yen.Around S$700 for a 1/2.5 scaled figurine of Rei. Totally worth the money. After all, this product has been released for a very long time already, and is extremely difficult to look for, even in Japan. The last time I went to Akiba, I only managed to find the Asuka one.

After all,I can’t get the 1/1 Rei. The price is at a freaking 430,000 yen, excluding shipping. With shipping included, I guess it’ll rise to S$6000. If I had the cash,I would buy it. Meh…

Anyway, 1 paper down, 3 more papers to go… Before I am free for a month.

Wonderfest 2007 : I am now offically a poor man

When I said I would not be updating till the exams ended,I guess I lied. =p

Anyway, when my friend in Japan decided to go to the Wonderfest 2007,I asked him to get me some stuff. Half of my mind was thinking “I doubt he’ll be able to get the stuff. It would have ran out by the time it’s his turn”

Looks like I was wrong.

Meh,I have been a slacker… And what’s this Chara Fest 2007 @ KKnM?

National Day,followed by a long weekend. I’ve just been too lazy to blog. There are a few topics I would like to touch on such as my point of view on the ODEX bashing, but I would rather be playing Gundam Musou. And I’m supposed to be studying for my exams. Whee, looks like I’m going to suffer in the semester exams.

I doubt I’ll be updating this 2 weeks, partially due to the exams. The other reason is that I’d be spending most of my free time trying to complete Gundam Musou. I got it when the PS3 was released in Singapore, but I never got down to playing much of it.

So,this post will be the last one for quite some time,I guess.

Gurren Lagann Cheering Me On!!!

Anyway, more phat loot from KKnM.Oh and KKnM’s closing from 15 August till 21 August,in preparation for some Chara Fest event. I wonder what is that. Anyone knows?

The Chara Fest 2007 will be held on 25 August, which is a Saturday and also the same day as the Natsumatsuri. It’ll be after my exams,so I might drop by to take a look, and then head over to the Natsumatsuri after that.

I dread the coming exam papers, yet I am so looking forward to the end of the exams. Such irony. Damn examinations.

I’ll be back…. on 24 August

*Edit: Link for KKnM Charafest release list.

And looks like the exams isn’t stopping me.

How I spent National Day

This lass followed me around for the entire day.

Sexy, isn’t she?

Rider went to many places today. Orchard, Somerset, Dhoby Ghaut(Duh,that’s where I got her) and Clarke Quay. Oh, she also watched The Simpsons Movie at Shaw Orchard. She was kind of a lightbulb though,if you get what I mean.

Tegen Toppa Gurren Lagann

This show is total awesomeness.

I thought that the show would suck after the manly Kamina’s death, but I was totally wrong.Simon proved to be much more of a man than Kamina. And Kamina’s death only made the show more interesting.

There were quite a number of epic scenes so far, such as the one with Kamina dying after defeating a beastman commander,as well as the part with Simon drilling a hole through Lord Genome. The 2 mentioned are my favourites so far.

The artwork for this series is also kind of unique, and does not really rely much on CGI despite it being a mecha series. Oh,and the mecha designs are pretty unique, which increases my liking for it.After all,no one wants to see gundam-looking mecha in a non-gundam anime.

There’s no such word as Privacy in the dictionary

This appeared in The New Paper on the 6th of August 2007.

I laughed upon reading this letter.

Someone please tell the guy that there’s no such thing as privacy in our sunny little island. Who’s going to give a damn about a normal citizen’s privacy, especially here.

Shimokawa Mikuni - Sayonara mo Ienakatta Natsu

If you have watched any of the Full Metal Panic,be it season 1,Fumoffu or The Second Raid, you would have known about this lass. She did all the OPs and EDs for the entire Full Metal Panic anime series. All the OPs and EDs that she sang were really good. Out of all of them,my favourites in no particular order are tomorrow(OP for Season 1),枯れない花(ED for Season 1) and もう一度君に会いたい(ED for TSR). Other good ones include それが愛でしょう and 南風.

I’ve always thought that her voice was superb, and listening to her latest album さよならも言えなかった夏 just confirmed my opinion of her voice. Her voice is really soothing, yet at the same time lively. Also, she’s quite pretty.

Anyway, here are some of my opinions on the tracks in her latest album:
