Ghost in the Shell : Motoko in the Figurine

It’s been quite some time since I last purchased a figurine. The last one would be the Evangelion Shito series A-04 which i purchased 2 weeks ago. My hands were itching to get another figurine, and that was when Motoko came in.

For those who do not know, Motoko is a female cyborg who is the squad leader of Public Security Section 9 in Ghost in the Shell. Those who have not watched it, please do. It is a really kick-ass anime, especially for those who like mecha stuff and action. Continue reading ‘Ghost in the Shell : Motoko in the Figurine’

Why the pause of updates?

Well, I have been quite busy ever since I came back from the Japan Exchange Programme. As I am put in charge of the post-trip video, I spent almost the last week working on it. I must say, Adobe Premiere is difficult to work with. What you see when you are editing does not equate to what you see after you export the video. Hence,I took a longer time than expected.

And just when I was done, my laptop got screwed. I don’t know what happened, but the Windows Installer keeps popping out and Microsoft Office Professional keeps trying to install. WTF… Anyway, all thanks to the installation spamming,my laptop hanged everytime I booted into Windows. All my video files were in there, and I could not get them out. Safe mode would not work either. Luckily for me, I managed to use the command prompt to backup the final copy of my video, before reformatting.

Also, my laptop seems like it’s going to die anytime soon. Even after I reformatted, it lags a lot. Even small programs such as Stepmania would cause it to lag badly. I can’t play World in Conflict too,as it hangs awhile after I play it. Why should a 1.8GHZ Duo Core laptop with 1GB ram and a nVida 7400 graphics have such a problem?

School just started for me this week, and I totally forgot about the Japanese class assignment which I am supposed to turn in by this Friday. I shall have to finish it soon, I guess.

School-related matters took up quite a lot of my time, and I felt as though I didn’t have a holiday at all. Still, I managed to watch quite a lot of old anime. Finished Last Exile, FLCL and rewatched Evangelion too. I guess watching the new movie in Japan made me decide to rewatch the latter series. Oh, and vanships are cool.

Hopefully, this new school semester will not be so hectic for me, so I can complete a few more series in my backlog.

I think I will write a proper entry soon, after this Friday when I turn in the assignment. Until then, please bear with my lack of updates ^^

Evangelion Yahoo Widgets

I was surfing the internet looking for more information related to the new movie when I chanced upon something interesting. Thanks to it,my laptop now looks like this.

See that puchi Rei digital clock over there? I got it from here. I think the puchi eva series is pretty cute, so I decided to try out this widget out. And it turned out to be pretty good.

There are 11 designs to choose from,so you can constantly change it according to your mood.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your puchi eva widget today!!!

Oh, I also got the wallpaper from the same website.

Evangelion Wallscrolls

Remember the 4 wallscrolls that were in the previous post about my loot from Japan?

Well,I finally managed to get off my lazy ass and put them up. Not all, but only one. The rest are still in their packaging, as I might be getting a new cabinet soon and there might be some changes within my room. Or rather,I’m too lazy to put them up.

Anyway, here’s the one that is up.

Now, you might ask,why did I place part of the wallscroll behind my 26 inch screen.

The answer is this:

What can I do with S$10.50?

There’s quite a lot of things I can do with S$10.50.

For a Polytechnic student like me, you can probably use it to pay for 2-3 days worth of meals in school.

I can also watch a movie during the peak period and still have a dollar left to spare.

I can also play roughly 5 hours of LAN with the money.

But what I chose to do was get spend the 10 dollar and 50 cents on this :

Otaku Wear

Otakus often scrimp and save on everything that they can, except for their anime related products. Clothes are not an exception. Read Zer0’s post and watch the videos to see how extreme those otakus are. 3 shirts in the entire wardrobe,LOL.

Otakus are unwilling to spend much, if not any cash on clothes. This results in many wearing hand-me-downs and clothes which are so airy due to the uncountable number of holes due to wear and tear.

So,I was thinking, why not spend more on clothes that you would like to wear.

The one and only Otaku Brand came to mind. Cospa. The salvation for otaku fashion.

Here’s some clothes which you can wear without people looking at you at you differently from a normal person.

Japan’s Cinemas

Mentioned in the previous post,I managed to catch the Evangelion Movie in a cinema near Disneyland.

It was my first time in a Japanese cinema, so I was pretty excited.

The cinema was not as great as I expected though… Singapore’s ones are better.

Let me tell you why. Continue reading ‘Japan’s Cinemas’

Back From Japan

I have just returned yesterday, from my 9 day trip in Japan. I must say,it was quite interesting, and I managed to obtained quite alot of loot, considering it was a school trip.

I even went to Akihabara for an hour, taking the JR train from Maihama. When I reached there,it was raining ,so I could only cover a few buildings. Also,I could not buy much stuff, as the teacher would be suspicious of me escaping from DisneySea.
