Japanese Students must really love their Clear Files

While I was in Japan, one of the anime merchandise that I managed to get was clear files. The cinema shop was selling the Evangelion clear files in conjunction to the film’s release, so I grabbed both designs.

And when I bought a pack of 6 UCC (ewwCC) coffee, I was given another free clear file. I would have preferred the B2 poster of Rei though. Too bad they ran out of stock. I guess that was expected, given Evangelion and Rei’s popularity.

When I went to Chiba Institute of Science for the exchange programme and activities, the first thing I was given when I arrived at the University was a booklet containing information on the University, as well as a clear file.

The 2 days before I returned to Singapore I was around the Disneyland area. Every Disney merchandise shop that I went sold many clear files with various designs of Disney characters. I did not get any as Disney merchandise isn’t worth my money, but I noticed many Japanese students who were in the store getting them.

I read before somewhere that in Japan, using clear files in schools is a trend. However, in Singapore, I think no one gives a damn about using clear files. I myself do not use them. I tried using them once when I was in primary school, and the file was split apart within weeks. So much for storing my paperwork…

To me, clear files are just pieces of opaque plastic with pretty prints on them, and should be collected instead of being used. Of course, if the prints are fugly, then you should use them till they split apart.

I think I’m going to start using that Chiba Institute of Science file soon. Let’s see how long it lasts this time. LOL

LOL. I use all my clear files though… Most of them better made ones don’t split apart (like I’ve got one which is about… 4 years old?) but maybe it’s like hurhur, CLAMP magic instead of just the act that it’s well made. :D() I guess the trick is to not put too many sheets of paper inside…

My file that I’m currently using would probably last, since there’s not much paper for me to place in it. I hope ^^

I have a rough idea of what that kind of files you speak of… But I’m a rather messy person and usually don’t really use files. My papers all end up scattered in my bag. -.-

I hate clear files..They fall apart after a few weeks, and get overloaded too soon with the papers. >.<
