One Thing Which I Forgot to Consider when I Bought This

Normally, when you purchase figurines, what do you usually consider? The sculpt, the pose, the manufacturer, the character, the price?

Well, those that I listed above are the ones which I always consider before ever settling the payment of the purchase/preorder. It seems, however, that I have missed out something….

AYANAMI REI!!!!111!!!

I bought this quite sometime ago, probably about 2 weeks I think. Anyway, this figurine fared quite well in the various factors. The sculpt and pose was alright, the manufacturer was quite good, the character is awesome, and the price was reasonable after the price cut. However, I left out one point of consideration.

That is what I call a fugly base. It never ever crossed my mind once that this Rei would come with such a base. It’s not even coloured, and there are scratches all over it before I even used it. Not to mention it looks like a tupperware lid of some sort. Getting such a base made me slightly regret this purchase, but what the hell, it’s Rei, so I guess this is pretty much forgivable.

You can always display her without the base or if you’re arty enough, draw some stuff on the base.

I just ran into the fugly base syndrome myself. The Clalaclan figure had the tupperware look to it as well, luckily no scratches tho. Looking into making a new one out of wood.
