Today marks the end of 2007, and tomorrow, the beginning of 2008. Not that it really matters.

So, I have decided to end off this year with this reflective post.

2007 was the year when I started actively pursuing my hobby, and also one of the worst financial years I have experienced in my life due to that. I realised that not everything I bought was what I truly wanted. Many purchases were made under brash impulse, and I only realised my mistake once I arrived hope and unsealed the loot. I could have saved the money on impulse purchases, but I was weak-minded and succumbed to the evils. Meh. 2008 would be a great year to start saving.

This year was also my first to step into a new environment. Polytechnic. A lot differed from what my secondary school lifestyle was, but it still felt like I was back in a single-sex school. No one really gave a damn whether you came for lessons, so I ending up skipping those I could. Lessons were spent “wisely” on the laptop, surfing the internet and playing games. Reflecting back on my academic year, I realised I had squandered quite an amount of time, time that could have been spent learning other important stuff, be it school or non-school related. Regret fills me, for time and tide waits for no man.

This was also the year when I began interacting with the people of #SGAnimebloggers. Before that, I was just a lurker in the channel, only commenting on certain blogs, and the occasional few lines of chat in the channel. This all changed after the SGAB LAN gathering. I got to know many people in real life. This made me open up and be more willing to talk. My circles of friends are rather limited, so having an extra circle isn’t a bad thing in any sense. Especially an extra circle which has the same interest as I do.

2007 also marked the birth of this blog. I never expected myself to blog so actively, but I actually did. When I started off, there were times when I just wanted to give up on blogging, but I am glad stuck to it. After all, I derived quite an enjoyment from being able to express my opinions through it.

Oh well, it’s time for another year to pass. I hope the rest of you have had an enjoyable 2007, and a great 2008 ahead.
