Alarm clock have to cause a racket each morning for them to serve their purposes. Hence, we should make the best out of the alarm’s melody. No one wants to wake up to a depressing din, especially if you have a much hated routine, such as work or school. You would probably want to trash the source of the noise disrupting your beauty sleep, before drifting back to dreamland again.
As such, the best solution would be to have a cheerful alarm to welcome you to a new day. That way, alarm clocks would not be abused, and you can start off a fresh new day with a beam across your face.
I know of some rich comrades how have gotten themselves voice alarm clocks that feature their favourite characters gleefully calling out to them each morning. That is indeed an awesome encouragement to get out of bed. For those who find themselves unable to afford one of these babies, or to find one to your liking, you would already have been using the alarm function on your handphone, paired with your favourite anime song. That is, unless your biological clock functions with 101% accuracy.

Hence, for those who are part of the latter, we can discuss, in this post, what songs would be good to wake up to. Generally, you would want the song to be filled of life and fast-paced, or at least average-paced. A lullaby such as Tsukiakari (Darker than Black ED) would probably send you back to snoozing. Soundtracks wouldn’t be too good an idea either, as the lack of vocals would cause a lesser impact.
After a simple glance through my music library, I came up with some of the following which would be suitable :
tomorrow ( FMP! OP) : The song name already sounds hopeful. The pace is rather average, but it gives me the feeling of wanting to wake up to face a better tomorrow.
Minami kaze :(FMP! TSR OP) : This song emits the same vibes as the former.
Red Fraction (Black Lagoon OP) : This is a techno fast-paced song. Ignore the lyrics as you would probably be awake before the vocals begin. And if you still don’t wake up, Revy’s gonna shove a gun up your face.
Giniro no sora ( Gintama 3rd OP) : The life force of this song would definitely inject life into you. Sing with me!!! Giniro no sora hatenai ….
Shonen Heart (Eureka SeveN 2nd OP) : You gotta bloom your flowers of passion! Is that not enough to wake you up?
Zankoku na Tenshi no Teeze (Evangelion OP) : Wake up! Young boy, become a legend!
Sailing day ( One Piece 3rd Movie Theme Song) : Luffy’s spirt is in this song, and he’ll wake you up. Either that or a Gomu Gomu no something right in your face.
Keikenchi Joushouchuu (Minami-ke OP) : Time to wake up and gain experience points if life!
Minna no peace (Gurren Lagann 2nd ED) : Need I explain? The GARness within this anthem helps you triumph over the Z-demons, just like how Tegen Toppa Gurren Lagann kicked the Anti-Spiral’s ass.
As much as I like the other Evangelion theme songs, they won’t be included in the list. Tamashii no Refrain is great, but it just doesn’t make me feel like jumping out of bed to wake up to a new dawn. Komm,susser Tod would make you want to jump out of the window.
This list kept to a minimal due to my insanely pathetic anime music library (Ok… I have a decent anime music library, but I’m just lazy =P). Feel free to add on to the list, so that everyone can have a wide variety of alarm ringtones to choose from.
Waking up to a new day will never be the same ^.^
P.S. I just missed my alarm yesterday, despite it repeatedly going on for half an hour. The result? I was an hour late for class =X

I currently use Nayuki’s “Asa, asa dayo” on my phone. It’s the game’s version, although I’ve been trying to find a clean version from the anime (even tho that version is more likely to put me back to sleep).
my alarm ringtones are from yousei teikoku (妖精帝國), ‘last moment’ for now. They do a great job at scaring me out of the bed.

Madlax’s “Nowhere”, from the OP Single. I find it dischordant and noisy, and so I get up in order to turn it off.
I’ve been using the “stay away from the TV” theme from karekano since…… 2002. Still using it.

using “hey!say!” by hey!say!7, lovely complex’s op song ^^” super loud/shocking and jolts my heart to a wake every morning. I’ve about 10 songs in my computer alarm clock playlist.. so, if i sleep through the first song, there’s a backup 2nd/3rd song with a different tune to jolt me up XD
I had Moetteke Sailor Fuku as my alarm tone for the longest time because it just starts off really loudly and with a bang - perfect for waking people like me up. XD
mine is Kanon 2006 ending called Kaze no Tadori Tsuku Basho. It sometimes fail to wake me up but I simply love the starting music.
For mndays, i use the shots from M16, for the rest of the day, i`m using God knows

“Hit in the USA” by Beat Crusaders. (not exactly from an anime, least not that I know of, but its great nonetheless!)
And “Be Survivor” by ZZ. I guess it’s from the anime Eyeshield 21.
