I just came back from my first examination paper which I screwed up pretty badly. Just when I felt that the whole of today was ruined, a piece of news made my day much better. At least I’m smiling now. Screwing up and not getting an A does not feel as depressing now.

A Rei a day, to cheer me and any other people who are feeling down up

Fact Number 1: Dangos are inanimated, they don’t freaking hop around like in the Clannad ED. If they were really to come alive and do that, the world would have ended.

The Dango is a Lie

Have you ever watched an anime and unknowingly, some elements within it trigger some memories of your past?

This is a memory that I would like to have ^^
Recently, I came across 2 anime series that reminded me about portions of the past, one of my secondary school life, and the other of my trip to Japan in 2006. Care to guess?

If you have been browsing the various torrent sites, you would have seen the torrent of Evangelion 1.0 (You Are Not Alone). The movie has been leaked on Stage6 too. Apparently, it’s a video camera recording of the movie. It is suspected that the one behind this is an insider.

Just like many other anime movies, the Evangelion movie’s leak was no surprise. Past movies which have been leaked before the official DVD release include Tales of Earthsea and Cowboy Bebop : Knocking on Heaven’s Door. As long as there is the Internet, such leaks will be unpreventable. Even though Japan has an extremely strict law on video recording in cinemas, such incidents still occur.

If you have the habit of bringing a tumbler around with you, you might be interested in the following pictures. And even if you don’t have a tumbler, continue reading on. The pictures are rather awesome. Just looking at them tempts me to get a tumbler right away, even though I don’t have the habit of bringing around anything that stores drinking liquid.

Just like how a website needs to optimize itself for search engines, an otaku needs to optimize his time for watching anime.
Recently, I realised that the time I spent on anime has been diminishing. I rarely watch more than 2-3 episodes at home each day. The rest of the anime diet for the day were viewed on public transport. I blame this on nothing else but school and the dreaded exams. Speaking of which, I have only began on one of the four examinable subjects.

No pictures of hawt 2D girls watching anime, so 2D girls with books will have to do
Anyway, I shall cut the crap short and finish this before trying to cram another chapter of information security into my already overloaded brain.

Look at what I spotted in one of the computer labs in my school.

Pardon the pathetic 2 megapixels quality. I’m not a camwhore who brings my camera everywhere I go
Awesome B2-sized poster. On first sight, I was thinking that it was something along the lines of a bootleg, or self printed. However, when I inspected it in close range, I was surprised that it was actually an official Japanese poster. I wonder who would have put up such a poster. Also, out of everyone in my class, it appears that only I took notice of the poster, despite it being placed prominently at the front of the lab. This says a lot about the people in my class who are into anime.
Man, I so want this ゲド戦記 poster. If only I could take it down and bring it home. Its literally screaming out to me to do so.

The siscon fetish has a soaring popularity among the fans of 2D. Heck, I even touched on a bit of it in a previous post. I suspect it might be as well sought-after like other well-known themes such as Nekomimi and Megane. When such themes are a huge hit among otakus, they tend to take take the initiative, bringing things to the next level by borrowing the concept from 2D, and integrating the concept into 3D. Visualizing just isn’t enough to satisfy some needs.

For Nekomimi fetishes, it is unfortunate that humans are unable to grow real cat ears, and the poor otakus would have to settle for females who don headbands with those furry ears. As for Megane fetishes, it is realistic, as there are glasses in the real world. However, it is so realistic, many end up disappointed and feeling cheated. As opposed to the 2D world where the beauty of the ALL meganekkos’ exceed any unimaginable standard, only an extreme minority in the 3D world appear really attractive in glasses. The rest are either average or worse, invoking a nauseous sensation on sight.
Like the 2 themes mentioned above, Siscon is no exception. Stay on to find out why.

Recently, my desktop has been giving up on me. Since quite some time ago, my desktop has been lagging very badly, and some software wasn’t working as it should. The lag was often unbearable even when playing videos, especially 720p videos, and my system would often freeze for no reason. My Creative Media Player Video Converter would alert an error whenever I tried to convert anything, and my DVD burner just wouldn’t burn a single disc.

Some Japanese otaku’s workstation. The screens suck, but the layout’s cool.
Also, just last week, my power supply unit died on me after 2 years, so I had to purchase a new one. These are all telltale signs of my computer’s limits. I plan to change my desktop soon, but due to a lack of financial ability to do so now, I can only settle for a reformat for the time being.
