Or so I think. Gainax has released an uncountable ton of Evangelion artbooks, but none of them can beat the upcoming release, ãƒ±ãƒ´ã‚¡ãƒ³ã‚²ãƒªãƒ²ãƒ³æ–°åŠ‡å ´ç‰ˆï¼šåº å…¨è¨˜éŒ²å…¨é›†, which roughly translates to Evangelion 1.0 Complete Work Records. Even the total cost Groundwork of Evangelion Movie #1 and #2 which sums up to be 7,000 yen pales in comparison.
This artbook comes at a whooping 10,500 yen and is scheduled to be released in April 2008. I’m not sure if 400 A4 sized pages of Evangelion 1.0 and the awaited Evangelion 2.0 sketches and artwork would be worth its cost. I mean, I could purchase lots of manga with that money, buy a few figurines, or even buy other artbooks. Just when I decided that I wouldn’t get it, I saw a sample of the artwork. Oh, there’s a case that comes together with the artbook too.
My decision to get this grew from 0% to 50%. Now, the only factor that determines if I’m getting this would be how I’m getting this. If I’m not wrong, this is only sold in the Evangelion Store, so my chances of getting this would be as good as a BIG FAT ZERO!!! Oh well, I shall leave it up to fate to decide if I will part with 10,500 yen to add this to my collection.
In the meantime, I shall rack my brains over the Evangelion Progressive Knife replica. KKnM can’t ship this in, so I will have to find another way to sneak this in without getting myself caught, and it confiscated. Damn Singapore’s stringent laws.

I wonder if a day will come when they’ll stop milking the Evangelion Cow.
I don’t think they’d stop. Evangelion will never die ^^”
10,5k yens… for just A4 yeah that’s a bit exagerated if you ask me :/
Or you could buy a whole lot of tengas with that money..
The girls look great in the costume in the top image!
Hinano > I doubt that day would arrive. Unless Gainax goes out of business.
lu-k > EVANGELION WILL NEVER DIE!!11!!
Windbell > The image is taken from the 2008 Calendar, where everyone is dressed in Gothic wear.
I’ve never seen Eva, but I’d imagine Y10.5K is no big deal if you’re a big fan of the series. (“Big” is the operative word here, of course.) I’d happily fork over that wad of cash for an artbook based on one of my favourites.
Well, the movie looked pretty damn good, so I’d like to take a look at it. Plus, look at Rei’s outfit! I’d gladly fork over 10000 yen for that! (or 1GB of my daily bandwith quota, whichever comes first)
Runner ups: Misato, Ritsuko, Maya, Asuka (yes, Ritsuko>Asuka, yes, Misato>>Asuka)
Wait for a few months, it will come up on some imageboard.
Damn, I really want to get this… and I won’t be going to Japan anytime soon~ Grr….
If anyone find this, please share the link~ I suck at internet surfing…

I Have it ^_^
Ehm,I dont know U like this Anime. But,I’m very2 like this.arigatou Coz U like this Anime
This is not an artbook at all rather a long atricles textbook solely in japanese with screen grabs from the dvd and a couple of tiny sketch drawings and very bad looking storyboards. The filmcel i got was useless, and this has to be the worst waste of 200 dollars i have ever spent.
I should have bought the more cheaper book that actually does have drawings the groundwork of 1.0. For those looking for a full color artbook this is not it. In fact there have been better pictures from 1.0 and 2.0 in magazines. Sadamotos art was not in this book and that is what i wanted from 1.0
And Furthermore i could have bought the storyboards for ponyo, and die sterne 2.0 and still spent less money.
