I wrote some post on Yaoi and Shonen Ai out of pure boredom during a lecture more than 6 months ago. 6 months later, I totally forgot I actually posted about it. That is, until some fiery commenters came in with the flames and started to set that post on fire. Hurry, dial 995!!!

Personally, I maintain my opinion regarding Yaoi and Shonen Ai. I still have a strong dislike for it. But that’s because I was born a male. Heck, if I was born a female, I might be some yaoi and shonen ai fanatic.
I stated that the 2 are wrong, but that’s only for me. If I hate vegetables and say that eating them suck, does it mean that everyone else in the world has to stop eating their greens? I don’t think so. Similarly, I don’t see how stating that yaoi is pure wrong to me would mean that everyone in this world would have to stop their yaoi and shonen ai fantasies. I couldn’t give two hoots about whether the next person beside me loves yaoi, yuri or even tentacles.

And there’s the FYG part. Apparently, the me 6 months ago was trying very hard to inject some humor into my writing, but I sucked so bad at trying to be funny. A monster flame bait was born. ORZ, I fail. I should have been more careful with the way I wrote it, but that’s all in the past. I could have rewritten the post, but that would be something like rewriting history. The Heavens would send lightning bolts down to punish me for it.
In fact, I have nothing against FYGs, Yaoi fangirls, or even Yuri fanboys. Sure, their interests are something I diss, but as long as they are nice people, who cares?

lol! I have shunned yaoi yearsss ago. I can only tolerate shounen-ai ones (with plot and story) xD But still, nothing beats a good straight heteromance~
Haha, I hate spending ages writing something and then receiving negative responses based on the tiniest portion which I didn’t realise (at the time) could possibly offend anyone.
Though, after a quick scan through of the post I can see one major reason you’d come across as hypocritical: announcing that you’re 110% anti-yaoi then saying it doesn’t matter to you as long as the girls who like it are pretty or normal looking. I just typed in ‘fyg anime blog’ on google and you came up as the third result so they were probably only ever on the post to flame you anyway.
I felt it was quite funny, considering I wrote the post almost half a year ago, only to receive the flaming comments after such a long time. And I thought the flames would have arrived earlier. LOL.

I never really understood the fascination with yaoi or shonen-ai… and I’m a female. I find it, well… I wouldn’t say or I may be attacked by the very flamers you were. Still you should be able to say how you feel without having aggression towards your opinions afterwards.
