With blogging comes the usage of pictures. There are basically 2 types of pictures. Those you get directly off the net and those you take using a camera in real life. And so, I was wondering, which one would blog readers take interest in?

The first picture was a unprofessional photo of my Playstation 3 taken by me, while the second one is a professionally taken official Playstation 3 photo by Sony. If you compare the two, the better quality one would have to be the one by Sony. However, better quality does not always mean getting more people interested, or so I think.
So, which kind of pictures do you like to see more of in a blog post?
If the first picture has a moe poster in the background, more people would like it.
It depends on the content and purpose of the post. I don’t know how to further explain that without examples =P
I agree with IcyStorm as context is important when including pictures. For example, if you posted about just getting a ps3 and included the second picture in the post it would seem out of place while the first picture would fit. Also, blogs are kind of personal so real pictures seem to work a lot better than commercial ones.
Btw, MLB 08 The Show (baseball) is amazingly fun. Since downloading the demo a week ago I’ve played it for around 10 hours which is a lot more than any of my other games recently. I’m definitely getting it as soon as it comes out next week.

Ah, that’s the problem: I can’t think of any good examples, but Mark put it quite well. If the post is a critical and serious post about the PS3, then the second picture would be more suited. If it’s more of an actual blog or humor, then the “real” picture seems better.
