What about this? I’m a 19-year-old who has been “appreciating” shota since I was young enough to BE a shota. I am *not* a pedophile, and dammit, I’m so tired of saying that! Shota =/= pedophilia! Okay, take a look at an anime character. Could you get an anime character accidentally mixed up with a real person? I don’t mean how they look generally, I mean could you get a specific screenshot from an anime with a character in it confused with a photograph of real person? Yes? What the fuck are you smoking that’s letting you do that?

The bottom line is that real-life little kids are about as sexually appealing to me as having someone on a bad-as-fuck drug trip trying to take off my penis with a hot poker by repeatedly stabbing it until he’s stabbed a line all the way through. Real little kids are disgusting and I absolutely have no qualms about locking up pedophiles and throwing away the key. That IS fucking disgusting. What ISN’T fucking disgusting is shotacon, where no real children are harmed or even affected at all. If you think it’s helping to “urge pedophiles on,” fine. Show me proof that it’s helping to urge them on and I’ll listen. Until then, you’re making totally baseless claims, from which nothing of value can be assured.

Wow, you sure got a lot of flames there. Everyone who’s commenting seems either aggressively telling you you’re full of shit, or says ‘hip hip hooray’ or ‘lol’ in a fairly exasperating way… I didn’t think the article seemed to be particularly bashing Shotacon fangirls in the first place, nor possess any bias (apart from the over-the-hill pedophiles, but who can deny that?), it seemed to simply be an analysis. In fact it was a very interesting analysis to read, I enjoyed it, thank you. I hope you don’t mind that I would like to cite this for a school project.

I definitely agree with your first point 100%. Shotas are exotic, forbidden even. It’s alluring.

Your second point I cross out immediately though. This is because I have a little brother. I’m not saying that isn’t a factor for some, but I don’t think it’s a necessary component to the Shotacon’s psyche either. Believe you me, my little brother is the worst kind you can get (This is not a bias conclusion, he really is the worst, especially when he becomes violent) yet I still like Shotacon. But consider the opposite extreme; perhaps having a little brother you dislike might make you want a likable one, even in the extreme of fantasizing sexual relationships with a Shota.
This isn’t the case with me, I’m compelled to note.

And while I agree on the third a lot, I wish to put in my personal two cents. I don’t necessarily need submission in my shota’s. In fact, I like them with fight. I want them to have just as much assertion as their partner. Perhaps this is a deep-set issue within myself, but hey, it leaves open so many minority categories.
