Evangelion 1.0 Tickets And Evangelion 2.0 Release Date Prediction

Like many fellow Singaporean bloggers, I have finally got a chance to catch Evangelion 1.0 on the big screen locally. Even though it is the second time I am watching Evangelion 1.0 in the cinemas, I was equally as excited as those who were doing so for the first time. For those of you who were wondering what’s there to be so excited about after having watched it once already, the answer to that is Evangelion Fanboy Instincts (EFI). I just made up that term a split second ago.

My Evangelion 1.0 Movie Ticket(s)

I actually kept that Japan cinema ticket since September last year. I was rather amazed at the quality of the ink. There was no signs of fading, unlike our local cinema tickets that start to fade after a couple of days. It must be Japanese high quality ink.

I kept the ticket as a memento of my school trip to Chiba, since the rest of the stuff I bought wouldn’t fit in my wallet. Stuff like figurines, pencilboards and wallscrolls. Also, I carry it with me everywhere I go as though it’s some sort of good luck charm. May the Rei be with me!

Once again, looking at the Japan cinema ticket reminded me of how expensive a trip to Japan’s cinema is, as well as my crappy experience at the cinema near Disneyland. You can read about my past experience here.

And now for the second part of this post, my prediction on when Evangelion 2.0 is going to be released.

Gotta love Operation Yashima

Seeing as it is right now, there is totally no news of Evangelion 2.0 as of date. But, I have this gut feeling that Gainax might decide to pull yet another vigorous milking stunt. After all, that’s what they are famous for. Since the Gurren Lagann Movie is scheduled for release in Autumn, they just might lump the Evangelion 2.0 release together with it, releasing both in September. That way, they can milk both movies at the same time and prepare for a windfall, as well as cook up an Evangelion Movie First Anniversary Celebration or something along those lines to milk more fan cash.

Then again, they might just release Evangelion 2.0 slightly earlier, probably in August. Immediately after the movie stops airing in cinemas, the Gurren Lagann Movie might be released and Gainax can continue riding on the wave of fortune.

Of course, all these scenarios stated are just my personal opinions of what could possibly happen. For all you know, Gainax might decide to change their mindset this time round, and schedule the 2 movie releases in a way that no one would expect.

Damn, I want Evangelion 2.0 now. Too bad there ain’t going to be any Mana. She’s such a lovable character and definitely deserves to star in a leading role.

*waits patiently for the dvd to be released and fansubbed*

Seriously though, I’m far more interested in the next part as a simple rehaul of some anime episodes with much improved animation doesn’t sound as appealing. That is, assuming that they’re actually changing stuff in the second movie..

zenical > Go watch it NAO!!!

Mark > They should be doing a whole lot of changes. Heck, there’s even going to be a new female character.

Gordon > LOL, let’s see what sort of trouble she will stir up in the next movie.

That’s what I thought, but I considered being wrong since I only found out that it was 4 movies instead of 3 in the last month or two.

In Singapore they did not show the trailer…
but if you watched it in Japan or have the DVD,
you can actually catch a 30 clip of what to expect in 2.0.
