Once again, UCC Coffee launches more Evangelion coffee for the various creative reasons they can think of.
First it was the UCC coffee with cans that had the various character prints on them. Then the Rei and Asuka meido prints, which in my opinion, look really weird. I never really like meido uniforms anyway. And now this. Puchi Eva and a gorgeous looking Rei in her school uniform.The former is to commemorate the release of the Puchi Eva DS game, and the latter, to commemorate the release of the special edition Evangelion 1.0 DVD. What a splendid way to commemorate by milking more fans!
So, why do I hate UCC Coffee? Because of the release dates of the latest can designs. Both new designs are to be released in mid-April, and I will already be back in sunny red dot by then. It’s a conspiracy planned by UCC and Gainax, I tell you!
Of course, let’s not forget the taste, shall we? Coffee never tasted so bad.
This is probably one part of the Puchi Eva DS game where Misato tries to brainwash the player into thinking that UCC coffee is sweet(あまくて) and delicious(おいしい). It is indeed sweet enough to make you puke your guts out, but it is definitely anything but delicious. I didn’t know Misato was this evil.
The only reason why people actually buy UCC coffee is for collection and the freebies such as posters and whatnot that come together after you buy a carton of 30 cans. Only a fool like me actually tried drinking a can to get a taste of it.
This marks the third wave. Let’s see what else they can come up with next.
I’ll be in Japan in mid-April and will be sure to take your advice and NOT drink this stuff.

UCC has full gamut of coffee products. It has also top notch coffee. If you have cheap/bad image for UCC. Please try ueshima-coffee-ten(上島珈琲店). Ueshima-coffee-ten combined Japanese traditional coffe shop decor with exellent coffee. It’s a challenge to Starbucks.

I have to get the medio UCC coffee cans, somehow. Even if the canned coffee sucks.
Arghh I’ll be back from Japan on the 2nd of April and won’t have a chance to get this T_T
