Woke up slightly earlier today at 9.30am, so I had a little time to tinker with my laptop before we set out for the start of a brand new rainy day. Bleh. I hate rain in chilly weathers. My hands were so stiff from the cold that I couldn’t even take out coins from my wallet properly.
Anyway, we met up with Danny and Hector at around 11.30am for lunch, which happened to be at a Chinese restaurant. The food was rather good and talking over the meal was really enjoyable. I wasn’t the one who was talking much though, since I was rather clueless about what to talk about. Also, meeting the man himself in person felt a little somewhat like meeting a celebrity.
After the meal, we headed over to Danny’s office which was a few minutes walk away. I was surprised to see that his office was only a room in the first level. Although I have seen photos of his office online, seeing them it real life gave a totally different feel. As the office was in a rather small room, it gave a rather cozy feeling. There was no feeling of being in a workplace. It’s pretty much like Google’s office, except this time it’s personalized with anime figurines and posters. I would definitely not mind working in such an environment ^^
Danny and Hector had some work to complete, so we soon bid each other farewell and headed back to the hostel for a short break. I had a really great time even though our meeting was for only a few hours. I love meeting up with new faces ^^
There’s still the second part of this post on our revisit to Ueno, which is going to be photo intensive. I shall do a separate post on that, or it will take an extremely long time loading the pictures. The wireless internet connection in the room is really unstable, so uploading the pictures isn’t any easy feat. I’ll probably have to do it in the common room.
Next time, Ueno Park and the beautiful blooming flowers!

Hanami! Hanami! You can never take bad photos during hanami, that’s my take on it.
And omg, you guys met Danny Choo! Jealous meter up to 1000% right now! Hahaha, the Singapore otakubloggers should have an off-kai!
Have you tried talking to the other hostelites?
Yep, good to see you met up with him. Must have been fun in his office and over lunch.
How much does it cost for this 10 day trip?
Your parents supported you with some $?
double, out of the many things an otaku has to do before he pass away, u have already done 2 of them, namely go to akiba and meet danny o-nii-sama. your life is almost complete. ^^:
you are so lucky that you met danny and hector. that must have been so cool
You didn’t stole the Mayu/Reika Poster? What a waste… I’m jealous that you got to meet up Danny, and even visit his house with all those figures… Were you tempted to grab some SAFS and run?
Soshi > I have talked to a few of them, and a Japanese middle aged man even gave me his email address. The guy in Windbell’s post, that is.
Panther, otaku dan > Yea, it was great fun.
qqqq > Air tickets and lodging went up to about 1500 sgd.
gordon > I’m not ready to pass on yet =/
Hirito > I had to resist, or thousands of otakus worldwide would be hunting me down.
