It was nightfall by the time we were done with our Byousoku journey, but it was still rather early, since the sky turns dark at around 6pm in Japan. Since Shibuya was just a few stops away, we decided to head over for some photo taking. There was a HMV at Shibuya too, so I was planning to grab a couple of CDs there, as well as help a friend get something he requested.

We arrived at Shibuya during the peak hour, so it was flooded with a sea of humans. We emerged from the Hachiko exit and found ourselves greeted with a magnificent view of towering buildings. My camera fails at taking night shots, and most of the pictures had so much noise. Hence, I only have a couple of decent pictures. I seriously need to learn how to take proper night shots.

Banners to promote the upcoming Jdoramas. Hmm, Gokusen 3…

Oooh! Lights and more lights!!!
After finishing up on the photos, we headed towards HMV, which was just a short walk from the crossing.

I borrowed this photo from some other website as I was too busy rushing in instead of taking photos
This is my second time raiding visiting Shibuya’s HMV, so I roughly know what’s where. First,we headed for the DVD floor to take a look as well as get the request. There was nothing much interesting on the DVD level, except for the overpriced region 2 anime DVDs. HMV doesn’t give any discounts on them, so it’s much more worthwhile to purchase them at Akiba, if you really want to.
Then, we moved down to the ground level, where all the mainstream Japanese music CDs were. That was when the real fun began. I started grabbing some CDs that I already had in mind, and went round and round the shelves. Then, I bumped into Windbell, who happened to be carrying a basket of CDs as well. I wasn’t expecting him to purchase anything, so my first reaction was to laugh when I saw his load of CDs.
I can’t remember how long we spent in HMV, but it was the longest time we spent shopping in a single store. Here’s my share of the damage received of the longest battle as of yet in our trip.
His Master’s Voice hits me, I lose 24187 hitpoints yen
This is nothing compared to the 40,000 odd yen I spent 2 years back. Ah, that brings back the memories.
Now that we’re half broke, we need to think of a way to conserve money.Being broke in Japan is the worse thing that can happen to an anime fan/otaku.
On a side note, I have only 1 clean shirt remaining, and it happens to be a Cospa Evangelion shirt that I bought. I better get of my lazy ass and start doing the laundry, or I will have to go shirtless for the rest of the trip.

You are rich!
Unlimited supply of $ isn’t it?
so next is otaku related stuff?
GO SHIRTLESS!!! WILL STRIP FOR REI AYANAMI GOODS!!!
I prefer Tower Records in Japan actually… have you ever compared the prices between the 2? I’m not sure if they’re any different
judging from your posts, japan should be chilling now right? that means one won’t sweat much. don’t sweat = clothes not dirty = can wear them again and again? zhun bo? (’~')
Yep. Tower Records is much better. Not sure if there’s a price difference. I did most of my CD shopping at Recomints though. 2nd hand CDs FTW!!
qqqq > Next will be how I try to rob some Japanese obaasan for more cash >:| Just kidding
0ne > Haha, maybe in summer.
Squee > The only thing Tower Records does better is the free posters that come with new album releases.
gordon > What you said might be true, but I still prefer to wear some clean clothes if possible. LOL
MrMayat > Will prolly shop for 2nd hand CDs later today.
