In the past when the anime watchers around me mentioned Code Geass, I often said I don’t particularly like it despite having watched it, even though the animation’s sleek, storyline’s good, and any other praises you can think of would probably apply to it. And so, when I watched the first episode of Code Geass R2, I realised I was lying to myself and to those whom I spoke to about it. I really liked Code Geass, actually.

If I didn’t like Code Geass , I wouldn’t have bothered watching the last 2 episodes aired separately from the first season. If I hadn’t watch Code Geass, I wouldn’t have bothered watching the first episode of R2.
Even till now, I have no idea why I said that I didn’t like Code Geass. Was it because it had a soaring popularity which made it somewhat mainstream? I don’t know. Or maybe I was just plain biased, and often compared the designs of the Knightmares to that of other mechas such as the LFOs and the Armslaves. Still, anything is far more interesting than a V-shaped crown mecha.
Anyway, who cares? From now on, it’s time to enjoy R2 with more hawt girls, sleek action-packed battles and bishounens (for the fangirls, of course)!!!
P.S. I think I might have some sort of tsundere tendencies unknowingly hidden with me. やばい~!

Perhaps it’s a natural aversion to mainstream hype. Sometimes we tell ourselves not to be influenced into liking something that everyone else won’t stop raving about, only you HAVE been influenced by the masses - in the opposite direction into not liking it because everyone else does… To lazy to think of a better way to phrase that. At any rate, welcome to the bandwagon, the only reason NOT to like Code Geass is if you’re looking for something ‘meaningful’ logical and coherent to watch anyhow
Personally, I think that if everyone decides to be a fanboy about a show and you don’t join in you start to wonder why they’re making a big deal about something you consider merely “good” when there’s plenty of amazing shows that don’t receive much attention. You start to think it’s stupid and it slowly starts to descend your rankings after it’s finished until you’ve forgotten what you liked about it in the first place.
Also, sometimes something you consider really stupid can happen so you don’t finish a series and start to dislike it. This happened with me in Code Geass where the pink haired princess got accidentally hit with the geass and started shooting everyone. I didn’t end up continuing it till the last two eps came out but then realised I liked it.
Ep 1 of R2 was really good but the transition from easy-going Lelouche to ‘lol-die’ Lelouche as he regained his memories was a bit uh.. instantaneous.
Btw, Soul Eater is a really good new show. I don’t generally watch shows that fit the classification of typical-shounen anime but it’s so stylish and well animated that I’m making an exception. It’s also got good music and voice actors. It’s not subbed yet but the HD RAW is a quick download on the Zero-Raws irc channel.
The first ep of The Tower of Druaga was funny with some good parodies of certain anime (including Gurren Lagann) and cliche plots.
Let’s all scream ‘AAAAAARGHHHH!!!’ together as this CGR2 service on the SUNRISE Express hurtles towards its inevitable train wreck; oh but what a ride it’s gonna be!
Mark: I am waiting for subs for Druaga and Soul Eater. >_< Apparently though it will have to take a brave group to do the former, thanks to Gonzo’s tactics.
This is kinda like me with The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. I hate the show and find it so mediocre but I’ll probably enjoy season 2 of that maybe. We’ll see.
issa-sa > I’d rather stop trying to struggle from the pull into the mainstream bandwagon for once and just enjoy Code Geass R2.
Mark > I’ll check out Soul Eater soon. Druaga was freaking awesome!
Zyl > /boards the rollercoaster
Koji Oe > The only reason why I watched Haruhi was for Nagato Yuki and Asakura Ryouko, who is already dead.
I’ve been, surprisingly, hooked onto CG season 1 & 2. I now fiend for it to come out every Sunday >.>
Bleh, Lelouch depends too much on luck. Nevertheless, this anime is full of unexpected(?) twists and fanservices (In a good way, of course), on top of its already excellent plot.
I love Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu ever since I watched it, kinda hooked to Haruhi and Kyon’s imouto (Don’t ask me why lol).
c c and kallen are freakin’ hot!(not to mention sexy!!!)
i got hooked by adultswim. before i would watch the new episodes of bleach every thursday and i saw it under related movies. i watched 1 ep and bam, i couldnt stop. soon as i wake up on sunday im at my laptop. nice to know other people like it and its not just me!
