Just 2 more Fridays and the DVD I’ve long awaited will be released. Well, before it actually comes out for sale, let’s take a look and the contents included in Evangelion 1.01.
Before this, only the contents have been revealed, but there were no pictures to show what the contents really looked like. This time however, photos of all the contents have been taken.
As seen above, and known since the release date of the DVD was announced, there will be 2 DVDs included in this special package, namely Evangelion 1.0 and 1.01. In case you have not heard, Evangelion 1.01 will contain the extras, including an explanation of Evangelion 1.0. Till now, I have not the slightest idea why Gainax would want to name the second DVD as such. Maybe it’s one of their secret milking techniques to come up with naming. That’s something one should probably take note of.
Besides the 2 DVDs, a booklet and a filmstrip are included too, as mentioned before. The filmstrip above features the scene where Shinji and Misato are having a conversation. I’m crossing my fingers that I get a Rei filmstrip, or the scene of the Battle of Yashima.
And that’s all for the look into the Evangelion 1.01 package. Sad to say, I’ve yet to order my copy of the DVD. I should really do so within the week or next, before I start to regret when it gets sold out everywhere. This is definitely not a time to be lazy.
i wonder will singapore be selling the DVD? afterall innoform media is the one who bought in the movie with cathay.
gordon > Even if they do, there’s not going to be any special package. I’m a sucker for such special packages, so I’ll get the Japan version no matter what.

sorry for being a n00b but can region code 2 DVDs be played in our bought in singapore DVD players? mine can play code 1 and 3 but never tried code 2 before.
gordon > Nope, unless your DVD player is region free. Use the PC ftw.
Any word on how much that is going to cost, double?

I’m still undecided on this DVD… if I buy one I’d better get a filmstrip with Rei on it…preferably the part where she’s changing into her plugsuit ^^
