Furu Anime Panikku

News regarding the fact that 6 minutes of Code Geass R2’s episode 3 has been leaked is all over the interwebs, posted yet and again on various anime blogs. Bah, big deal. It’s only 6 minutes, and the next episode airs within less than a week after the leak. Apparently, it got some people really excited. People who can’t wait a week for a prim and proper episode.

Congrats to those who found out a week earlier that Lelouch has 3 balls, C.C is bisexual and Rollo is Nunnally in disguise.

In such situations, a leak equates to spoilers. There will definitely be some people who will lament about how this 6 minutes would be total spoilers. Hurray for the spoiler-haters, and hurray for me not being able to understand their mentality. Seriously, I see nothing wrong with spoilers. If I really loved a series so much, I wouldn’t give two hoots on whether the storyline is spoiled for me, since I would still enjoy watching/reading the series even if the storyline was spoilt for me. Take Full Metal Panic for example. On the day of Semaru Nick of Time’s release, there were spoilers all over the net. I was more than glad to read them, since my Japanese standard isn’t high enough for me to breeze through the novels.

A true fan should always possess the desire to know more about the series’ development. Those who rant on and on about their passionate hate for spoilers should question the depth of their love for the series.

Anyway, I’m thinking that this might have been no accident. It could be one of those schemes by Sunrise to leap into the limelight and get everyone ecstatic and hyped up about Code Geass R2. That way, the fanboy and girl population would increase, the sales and profit increasing together with it too. Then again, I’m always analysing that every single little act by the various animation studios is a money milking conspiracy, so don’t mind me on this part.
