Dengeki Bunko May 2008

There was a Kinokuniya 20% sales for members, so I decided to pop by and grab some reading materials.

I wanted to get the latest Dragon Magazine, but unfortunately, Kinokuniya doesn’t stock it. The other unfortunate thing is that the latest issue of Dragon Age doesn’t contain a new FMP Sigma chapter, so I decided to pass on it. Instead, I purchased a copy of Dengeki Bunko, since there are some nice goodies included with it.

There’s a special Kino no Tabi short novel titled キノの旅 -the Sigsawa’s World-, a Toradora shitaijiki as well as a huge Shakugan no Shana poster. It’s the white unidentified object in the photo above.

As some of you might know, Shana isn’t exactly one of my favourite characters. In fact, I have quite a dislike for her. The tsundere flame haze fans can start hating me now, if you haven’t already done so. This poster will definitely not be mounted onto the walls on my abode, and might possibly be stashed aside in a dark corner of my room, ready to be forgotten in time to come.

The only reason why I snagged myself what appeared to be the last copy of Dengeki Bunko in store was the Kino Novel. The Toradora shitajiki is just another addition to the loot that comes with the magazine. I would rather buy the May issue of Dragon Magazine for the Full Metal Panic shitajiki, if it was available. Reverse traps in novels are awesome, and the novel’s not for sale too. The 20% discount was certainly a nice bonus, but I would have bought the magazine anyway even without it, since it’s good reading practice and a good way to pick up some new Kanji too.

I grabbed another 2 books too. On impulse, that is. Hopefully, it’ll turn out to be a good read.

Mushiuta volume 1 and 2

So far, there have only been 2 volumes released, and it’s serialised in Shonen Ace. I should seriously consider subscribing to Shonen Ace, considering the number of serialisations I read in there.

For Singaporeans who are members of Kinokuniya, the Kinokuniya sales at Liang Court goes on all the way till 30th April. Alright, reading time.

Would love to take that Shana poster off your hands and put it to good use. The only problem is finding a spot in my room to put it up lol!

I was excited when I received an email mentioning that there’ll be a 20% discount for Kino members but I was disappointed on finding that it was for Liang Court only. I can’t make it there due to 2 reasons; distance and exams.

Am anticipating the next discount period and hopefully, it’ll hit the main store too. :)

Hirito > Actually, the Shana poster’s quite ugly, even if I looked at it from a neutral stance.

Hynavian > Actually the Liang Court branch isn’t that far from the main store. Just a couple of stations away, probably another 15-20 minutes? And be prepared for a long queue if you decide to go.
