Full Metal Panic Sigma

So, school has started for a week and there’s the dreaded thing knowing as travel time. I spend almost 2 hours to get to and to return from school, so the best thing to do with that time is to read some manga. I’ve only been seriously learning Japanese for slightly more than half a year (those lessons by the Polytechnic don’t count, they were a waste of time), so my speed of reading is really slow. What some people could have completed in a couple of days, I took slightly more than a week.

However, lamenting about how slow I’m reading isn’t the point here. Talking about Full Metal Panic Sigma is.

This Is What Happens When You Read Manga Or Watch Anime In Class

For those of you who are still in school, I don’t know how your classes work but for me, I use my laptop for almost all, if not all my classes. Who needs textbooks when the resources are uploaded online and there’s Google? Anyway, that’s not the point here.

Before I begin on some of the reactions my classmates have, I’ll let you have some background knowledge about my class. I’m in an IT-related course and there are a total of 21 students, 19 guys and 2 girls. The balance totally sucks and I have to go through another 2 more years of this. Out of the 19 guys, there are only 1 or 2 besides me who are higher-leveled appreciators of Japanese animation artforms. The rest either only watch stuff such as Bleach and DGrayMan, or think that Bleach is Hentai and Naruto is buttsecks. The girls don’t watch anime, I think.

Now that you know what the hell’s going on in my class, let’s begin with some of the reactions.

So… What’s The Big Deal With The Code Geass R2 Leak And Spoilers?

News regarding the fact that 6 minutes of Code Geass R2’s episode 3 has been leaked is all over the interwebs, posted yet and again on various anime blogs. Bah, big deal. It’s only 6 minutes, and the next episode airs within less than a week after the leak. Apparently, it got some people really excited. People who can’t wait a week for a prim and proper episode.

Congrats to those who found out a week earlier that Lelouch has 3 balls, C.C is bisexual and Rollo is Nunnally in disguise.

Anime DVD Collecting

I bought my first Region 2 anime DVD back in the start of 2007. 6 Black Lagoon DVDs from Amazon Japan, which were sadly raped by MDA. After that experience, I was rather hesitant to continue expanding my collection by importing more DVDs from Amazon Japan. Also, the costs of Japanese DVDs did not help either. But I still continued anyway. Gurren Lagann was simply too awesome.

Now, this is one hell of an Anime DVD Collection. This belongs to some otaku, NOT me.

Fuji TV Building In Odaiba

Fuji Television, home to countless Japanese dramas as well as some anime. Since we were in the Odaiba area, we decided to drop by Fuji Television’s Odaiba building to take a look at what the hype among tourists was all about.

Pokemon : Real Life Version

While I was in Japan, I was somehow transported to Pokeland. I’m sure we all remember where the classic Pokemon games, Red, Blue, Yellow and Green began. Palette Town. Well, it was the same for my experience. All I could remember was strolling around in Odaiba, and the next moment, I was in Palette Town. Wow! It was my dream to be a Pokemon Trainer back when I was 10, so it was like a long-lost childhood dream realised.

Bump Of Chicken New Releases

This is another one of those non-anime music posts that no one cares about, but I’ll just write on anyway, since I love Bump of Chicken and their music. Their music is really awesome, and they should be given much more attention and love.

Anyway, coming out on 14th May, Orbital Period. Don’t be mistaken by the name as it has the same name as their album released last December. This time, it’s the DVD version containing the latest PVs. I’m looking forward to this, since their PVs have been rather good. Here’s the PV tracklist.
