The World Is Unfair To Consumers Of Animated Visual Merchandise

Apparently some people think that it’s immensely retard and a total waste of money to buy a Cospa jackets such as the Full Metal Panic one which I own. However, when it comes to other branded jackets that cost double the price of a Cospa jacket, people think it’s perfectly alright to buy it. Even if the design’s weird.

A classmate of mine who is a great fan of Show Luo, some Taiwanese artiste, bought a jacket branded under that artiste’s name. That thing costs more than 150 Singapore dollars, and that’s even more than twice that of Cospa’s outerwear lineup.

Here’s how the jacket looks like. Try not to fall of your chair laughing too hard.

The back

And the front

I have to hold back the urge to laugh hysterically each time my eyes meet with the jacket. Anyone who wears it will morph into a Power Ranger of some sort when he zips up. Yes, I kid you not. A Power Ranger. Wow, that was so last decade. More than 150 Singapore dollars for this jacket for this? You’re kidding me!

The front of the cooler jacket

And the back

I’m pretty sure you’ll agree with me on a huge TDD-1 at the back of a jacket looking like a much more kickass and fashionable design than that yellow logo. And a design related to a professional mercenary task force is much better than one that makes you looks like some Power Ranger.

I simply just don’t get it. What’s the difference between a male who idolizes a 3D MALE artiste and a male who’s a fan of a work of animation art? Both are probably similarly crazy fanboys who are willing to splurge cash on their interest and anything related to it. Both jackets are branded goods, regardless of what the brands are. And lastly, both have exactly the same functions, to keep warm. However, the majority in the class views the latter differently from the former. Maybe the crowd just favours Power Rangers and Taiwan artistes with their own brands over a slick cool military design.

Bah, the world is unfair, therefore it is beautiful.

LOL! your classmate’s…male? D; i guess its pretty common for silly fangirls to buy his goods, but a guy?!?!

Where is the piture of your jacket? And don’t worry both parties are extremely gay.

Kaori > Yea, he’s male alright.

tj han > Updated with pictures of my jacket. Let me guess, knowing you, you’re probably going to say that both designs are equally gay?

While I do agree that the S.SAGARA insignia emblazoned on the front of the cospla jacket is far more awesome than yellow stripes, I tend not to comment on fashion sense, it IS a fickle thing as it stands.

we love manga/anime as to some people who love taiwan singers and tear jerking korean doramas.

I guess jackets is also a form of promotion. Fans wear them and its free promo for the company (be it Show Luo or Cospa jackets). If there’s a cool Claymore jacket, I’ll grab it. :D

Speaking of expensive jackets, Cospa is selling the one in the first picture for 380SGD, without shipping. (Mainly, it’s a ploy to entice Key fans to splurge their money). Well, I suppose it’s a matter of opinion.

what the…paying so much just because the coat belongs to an artiste. this is insane! I think its more logical to buy something that looks nice and durable instead, of course at a reasonable price. That will do just fine. =D

I guess you were made fun of by that friend who owns the “Power Ranger” jacket…

In the end of the day it doesn’t really matter whose jacket is cooler than whose. Comparing clothes and putting each other down is so… high-school. :P
