Volks has some figurine event going on 24th and 25th May named VOLKS ALL THAT’S HOBBY 09, and they have this certain resin kit which I’m desperately hoping for them to mass produce.

This Rei looks simply awesome. The design appears to be rather eye-catching, especially since it’s somewhat gravity defying.
When I first saw this and realised that it would be a event-only limited release, I began cursing and swearing at Volks. It was only after a little while when I realised that it was only a Resin kit. That calmed me down a little, since I would never buy resin kits because I lack the skill and ability to build them.
The price’s a rather hefty 13440 yen, but I guess that’s the norm for a 1/6 scaled resit kit. Hopefully, reception towards this kit turns out well, and we might see this on shelves soon. Even if it’s only a preorder exclusive within the confines of Japan, like the Hatsune Miku(ugh!), there’s always the chance of me bagging it if I ever head there again.

Most of the really nice sculpts are not mass producd for a reason - too complex, which would mean high cost and thus a lower demand. This is a nice one though, but I wouldn’t pay too much.
I think figures these days are getting shittier though I haven’t found one that is any good to buy besids SE’s playarts.
that rei figure is so beautiful
tj_han > I’m guess that if it every gets produced, it’ll be only slightly cheaper than the cost of the resin kit, since resin kits are always more expensive. I never understand why though…
otaku dan > Yup.
Whoa! What a great looking figurine!
Ayanami MOE!
I do want it, but it is hell expensive… It is probably cheaper if it got mass-produced but may not be as good as the original.
That is such an amazing figurine, one of the best out there.
