For my past few trips in Japan, I’ve noted a Japanese habit each time I enter a bookstore or stroll past the convenience store’s reading material section. It seems that browsing through reading materials free of charge, followed by placing them back on the shelves instead of buying them is a national habit. That being said, I’m in no way against that habit. In fact, I would very much like to have such a habit too, but the thing that stops me from developing such a habit are the “No browsing” signs all over the magazine sections in local stores.
I’ve digressed too much from the purpose of this post.
Anyway, it seems that the Japanese have brought this habit to the interwebs too. HERE, you can browse through 30 out of 400 pages of the newly released Evangelion 1.0 Complete Work Records that costs more than 10,000 yen.
It’s definitely less enjoyable browsing through the online samples as compared to the real deal, but hey, free stuff is always good.
Besides the hard cover book, there’s also a film strip included, similar to the Evangelion 1.01 DVD, as well as a CD that includes some nifty desktop decoration features.

I have not the slightest idea why Amazon Japan categorizes this product as a computer software. The book’s supposed to be the main selling point, not the CD! Also, it’s out of stock, so I’ll probably never be able to get it even if I have the money.
Hopefully, some lucky kind Evangelion fan uploads the artbook scans soon. I’m dying to see what else is in there.

Lol..No comments..
ya, It is just too sad that they din’t let us read through the book first before purchasing them…Or else They din’t want to take off the plastic cover that cover the books, Letting us unable to read through them….
Thanks for the preview link. I saw the volume in a bookstore but I doubt they are willing to have a browsing copy due to the price. There must be quite a bit of worthy material in there, but 10000 yen is quite steep.
I’m saw a couple of photos from some Japanese bloggers who bought the book. Amazing. I’m so getting this if I ever see it.
