My eyesight has gotten worse by another 100 degrees, and I have been forced to change my glasses which have served me for a year and a half. I seriously need to cut down the hours I spend in front of the screen.
As usual, I shall link the topic in real life to that of the 2D world. In this case, Meganekkos.
Out of all the well-known fetishes, the Megane fetish is one of the few that tops the charts alongside Loli and Shota. However, it’s so overly hyped that people often forget the various categories of Meganekkos and just settle for any character in glasses.
Generally, there are 3 types of Meganekkos. The Full Fames, the Frameless and the Half Frames.
The Full Frames
Usually, these characters wear glasses with thick dark frames, making them appear studious. Stereotypically speaking, these characters are those who spend long hours on their work or studies. To put it in simple words, the Full Frames appear to be Geeks. And that’s precisely why some people love this type of Meganekkos. They appear to be so hardworking that they give one the impression of them always giving their best shot in everything. And when I say everthing, I mean everything.
The Frameless
These characters often appear intellectual, often playing the dominating role. People who love these characters often want to serve instead of be served, and follow instead of lead. The exceptional brilliant aura emitted by the Frameless is what makes them attractive. Also, some of the Frameless are scheming characters up to no good. Apparently, some people like this naughty side of them. It’s the same logic for why girls like bad-boy types and dump the nice guys.
The Half Frames
This group can be considered as somewhere in between the 2 groups mentioned above. Not appearing to be extremely intelligent nor hardworking, the Half Frames have a much more witty and bookish appearance as compared to those without any glasses. There isn’t much to elaborate about this group, since they’re rather balanced.
The Contact Lenses
This group consists of characters who don’t wear glasses, so it can’t be considered under the Megane fetish.
My personal favourite would be the contact lenses, since girls with glasses seldom wear headphones. I know how much it strains the ears when you don both glasses and headphones at the same time. Also, I’m not really a glasses-kind of person. If I wasn’t such a lazy bum, I would be wearing contact lenses on a daily basis too.
However, if I really had to choose out of the 3 main categories, my preference would be the Half Frames. I’m unable to sense any attraction from the Full Frames, and the Frameless will appear overly intellectual that they would make me look like an idiot.
My extremely brief case study on the Meganekko population and their attraction ends off with this question. What type of Meganekkos do you like, or do you have a preference for the Contact Lenses instead?
I’m wearing a pair of full frames glasses but I do have contact lenses too. Its just that I’m just like you, a lazy bum when it comes to wearing contact lenses.
Luckily for me, the only time I really need to put on a pair is when I go for movies. Other than that, I can navigate around without much hassle.
I’m wearing a pair of half-frames, pretty annoying actually, the lenses tend to slip out.
And I’m very partial to the frameless subset of the Meganekko fetish. ^^
I wear contact lenses everyday for 7 years already, whereas half-frames only when i get back home before sleeping ^^

I like frameless. Why? Cause full-frame and half-frame glasses are a pain in the ass to draw for me =p My mom makes me wear half-frame glasses though, since she says I look better in them
I wear half-frames. Contacts seem creepy. And I prefer guys with glasses than without.
contacts dont mean a thing. they should be banned(for females at least). they do cause eye infections you know
personally half frames are nice but you forgot to add that there is the top half and bottom half. which is like more subsets haha.
to me glasses are just like picture frames. they bring attention and enhance the subject matter.

I’ve wore glasses for a good 9 years already and I’ve switched between glasses and contacts, but I definitely prefer glasses.
Mine are frameless glasses. I prefer glasses over contacts, i don’t fancy having things shoved up my eyes.

I have a half-frame glasses but not using it really often… just when I like to wear them. and I like girls w/ half-frame glasses too… I don’t have glasses fetish but I like to see girls wearing one ever since high school where anime shows and information was really scarce and as I don’t have an internet connection to surf for otaku thingies, didn’t even know what is an Otaku and haven’t heard of it (still 56k connection that point in time)…

i just find this interesting.
i have half-framed glasses, i’v had experience with all of the glasses types. Full frames, was a favorite with a lot of people. Frameless didnt last that long, the glass just fell off <.<; and the contact lenses, well i’m actualy trying for those, but half-framed are my favorite so far.
Girls wearing glasses is like the ultimate taboo for me, honestly if I had to choose between a girl with a grotesque looking scar running down her face or a girl with glasses I’d choose fry-face 100 times over. No matter how they compensate with personality, or figure or whatever I’ll be guaranteed to hate them to the core 99.9% of the time.

I am currently wearing full-frame glasses. I’ll be switching to half-frame pretty soon…
And the only reason is that most of my classmates wear half-frames.
I wear full frames because I have no choice. My prescription doesn’t look good without a frame going all the way around it. Plus I think if you are going to bother with someone wearing glasses, go all out with the full frames. Go big or go home. I guess your descriptions are right about full frame girls because I never half-do anything. To me half frames are half-doing, and frameless are just posers.
After years of frames, I went frameless thanks to a new type of glasses that can accommodate my blind-as-a-mole prescription without thick, heavy frames. Frameless boys have always made me drool, from the first time I “noticed” boys. Their studious nature is something to admire, the poetry of their words leaves me melting, and their mysterious dark side gives me chills. A sly smile over the gleaming edge of the glasses… makes me squeal just thinking about it. I now have my very own real-life megane who is such a balance of brains, dry wit, sex appeal, and a slight dark side to him, good boy at work, bad boy at home, I am in looove!
