Today’s highlight was the cosplay competition, so many came with cameras of all sorts for some snapping.

I failed my camera. It’s pretty decent at taking photos, but my skills just aren’t there. It was only after I got home and did some surfing around the interwebs when I realised that my shutter speed was far too slow as compared to what most people use for indoor shoots.

It was one hell of a day navigating through the human traffic jams, trying to snap decent shots on an event for the first time using my DSLR.

Collateral Damage Studios’ Art
The queue for the redemption booth was a snake. A freaking python which extended all the way out of the convention hall and near the escalators. I reckon there was at least more than 200 people in the queue, all seated and engaged in some form of self-entertainment while passing time. Well, it’s free stuff, so any typical Singaporean would queue in line. Me? I couldn’t even be bothered getting the passport thing that’s used to redeem freebies.

If IFS put this up for sale, I would have bought it
Anyway, I decided to snap a shot of the queue near the booth, when this random dude came up to me and asked the question in the post’s title. I was stunned for a moment. Who in the world ever asks such a question in a toy convention anyway?

This happened last week during the 10 minute break, so I couldn’t exactly recall the whole conversation word for word. Still, the gist of it is there.

Besides my role in the conversation, there are 2 other people whom we shall name as Peter and Mary. Peter’s the guy mentioned in this post, while Mary… I don’t really know much about her except that she reads Claymore, probably watches a crapload of anime, and is a Japanophile.

Ever since I came across the original Macross TV series and movie, I’ve always loved the classic 愛・覚えていますか. However, it was only with the recent release of Nakajima Megumi’s latest single 星間飛行 (Seikan Hikou) did I realise that there were actually quite a number of versions of the song out there.

I’m not sure if I managed to cover them all, but here’s all I’ve found.

NTV’s releasing a new Evangelion boxset with what I think is by far the coolest design ever. Now that’s what I call top quality packaging.

The entire boxset contains all 26 episodes of the entire TV series, a BGM collection consisting of 22 tracks,「EVANGELION:DEATH(TRUE)2」, and NEON GENESIS EVANGELION 01 TEST-TYPE 「残酷な天使のテーゼ」, an exclusively edited full size opening of 残酷な天使のテーゼ.

I was reading up on how to prevent hotlinking, and I ended up screwing up the site when I added a .htaccess file. The result? Only the main page could be viewed. Even after deleting the .htaccess, the permalinks got all screwed up. I started to panic and began searching for solutions. I really need to learn how to stay calm >_>

Once again, this happens during a period where I should be doing much more important stuff, for example, studying for tomorrow’s Applied Cryptography test. Instead, I’m here tinkering and screwing around with wordpress, causing more problems than I already have.
Anyway, thanks to Tami for reminding me that the problem was with the permalinks. I thought for a while, before realising that all I had to do was to refresh the permalink options in the Wordpress dashboard.
Bah, my brain needs to function efficiently in the right way. And I need to stop screwing up stuff.
Ah, Hakone. The place with a lovely nature park, as well as lovely hot springs.

The first night’s dinner was here, and the food was awesome

As long as you’ve been an experienced anime watcher and fan, you’ve ought to know how other veteran fans shun, bash and flame typical Shonen series. It just ain’t cool watching stereotyped Shonen as compared to say, Seinen.

I say that’s bullshit. In this post, let’s let it all out and share what typical Shonen series we enjoy, be it anime or manga. No point cooping it all up instead to prevent others to look upon you as a Shonen Freak. Spill it!
I’ll start the ball rolling with some of my own confessions.
