This Summer’s Going To Be A Drought For Me

Damn, the season I hate most in terms of anime and weather is here. I’m living in a freaking oven everyday, so the weather portion doesn’t matter. On the other hand, the anime portion does matter, a lot.

I’m going to be lazy and only list the series that I’ll probably pick up. The keyword here is probably.

Chocolate Underground : Production I.G? Chocolate and the law banning it after 5 in the evening? Fighting against the law by creating bootleg chocolate? I’m game. Probably because I freaking love chocolate. As I type on, I’m savoring mouthful of chocolates direct from Switzerland. Awesome stuff!

World Destruction : Production I.G strikes again. It’s like I’m some fanboy of them. Hopefully, it doesn’t turn out to be shit like the other 7891342 RPG adaptations out there.

Yakushiji Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo : Detectives and the supernatural. Sounds a little like Ghost Hunt. Loved it, so I’ll try this out too.

Zero no Tsukaima ~Miyoshi Hime no Rondo~ > I’m watching Season 2 because I’m really bored now, so I might as well continue. At least this is much better than Shakugan no Shana, although Louise and Shana are equally bitchy. Siesta and Tabitha are hawt.

Seikirei : I’ve heard A LOT of people fanboying over this series. My curiosity insists that I check the first episode out. But I’m guessing this is going to be dropped soon due to the supposed excessive fanservice.

Detroit Metal City : I’ve never read the manga because it seemed one-of-a-kind, but I’ve always wanted to. Now that the anime’s out, might as well watch it.

That’s about it. Out of all the shows listed, there’s a huge possibility for me to be dropping about 50% of them.

Last season, I was really hyped up about some series (Code Geass R2, Macross Frontier, Toshokan Sensou). The hype I experienced was so great, it actually became some sort of a weekly ritual to watch those shows the moment I could get my hands on them. However, there’s absolutely nothing this Summer that can even spark the slightest of my interest.

Isn’t Summer supposed to be the season of burning passion? Where’s that passion then?

  1. 1 Panther

Since when was summer a passionate season, thought it was spring haha.

Yeah I am catching World Destruction too, sounds very interesting. Promo was ok too. Sekirei for fanservice, and Yakushiji Ryouko for the mystery thriller type, amongst others.

Also, this season is expected to be more rain instead of sunshine for us, thanks to El Nino this year.

  2. 2 C.I.

Zero no Tsukaima and Sekirei for me ^^

But if J.C. Staff botch Miyoshi Hime no Rondo like they did with Futatsuki no Kishi, I swear, there will be raaaage. (Partially since I intend to episodically blog on Season 3)

  3. 3 double

Panther > I’ve been reading too much regarding the Summer Koshien, lol

C.I. > It doesn’t really matter. If it sucks, I’ll just drop it.

  4. 4 The Sojourner

This summer will be a drought for me because the only anime that interests me is Mahou Tsukai. Also, my memory for Slayers is too vague so I doubt I will follow the new Slayers.

I guess that means I will be able to spend more time doing other stuff. hmm… like watching older series.
