Seriously, What The Hell

Who cares about the Kentucky statue dressed up as a meido, or some lameass woman spread her privates wide for public photography? Not when some crazy ass bugger who’s tired of life decides to go on a killing spree in Akihabara. Now, that’s totally screwed up.

I am simply unable to comprehend the logic of such fools, if they had any in the first place. Tired of life? Fine, end yours, and only yours. Don’t go around harming other innocent people.

It scares the living daylights out of me when I think about this incident that happened only a couple of hours ago. What if I was actually confronted with such a threatening situation when I was in Akihabara back in April earlier this year.

Imagine this.

You’re on your virgin trip to Akihabara, the holy land of Otakuism. You’re all excited about being there, and embark on a shopping spree. With your plastic and paper bags of goodies, you roam the streets of Akihabara. Suddenly, some truck starts ramming down people less than 50 metres away from you, and a madman emerges with a knife and starts charging towards you. Before you know it, your first trip to the Holy Land has concluded as your last, and so has your life.

Indeed, screwed up people kill people. And I’m pretty sure that Akihabara will now rank first in the Tokyo’s most feared tourist attraction.

Die alone, people who enjoying committing such acts. Don’t drag the rest of the world down with you to the pits of hell.

Edit : After reading other blogs regarding this incident, I realised that I’ve gone a little overboard with all the swearing in this post, and it was in fact quite disrespectful towards the victims. Hence, I’ve decided to remove those words. Still, I hold my stand and do not approve of what that man has done. No one should. I hope the rest of the victims who are still alive pull through this ordeal.

Seriously, what the hell. They better give him the capital punishment. Death toll reached 3, latest update.

So this was what the fuss all over the news was just before… Looks like Akibahara is going to be the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons for a while…

  3. 3 panda otaku

yes,the world is indeed filled with those creepy and life ending moments.
kinda like,i-dunno,seeing your neighbors in the news for a chain of robberys and drug dealing.
    yeeeaaaahhhh.

    bad end ?

In the words of Patrick Macias:

The timing could not have been worse. The energy was already flagging in Electric Town as the area was slowly becoming a police state in the wake of crackdowns on street idols and cosplayers (the TV is now praising the already-elevated police presence in the area, saying there would have been more mayhem if not for them).

But even if the perpetrator, or the media - bless them - doesn’t blame it all on moe figures and hentai doujinshi, you know, the “otaku boom”, the deal has been sealed, the epoch has been crossed, and the new message is not “Yokoso Japan.”

This guy just killed Akihabara the way Charles Manson killed the sixties.

I guess that’s the end of “otaku” Akihabara that I used to know… Pity, considering the grassroots support it has, prior to all the commercial-capitalist blitz…

Thats messed, but it happens all over. Just too bad that akibahara was the crime scene this time.

According to Reuters and NHK news, seven are now reported dead, the assailant is supposedly under arrest and may have connections to the Yakuza. Death Toll or Life Imprisonment seems forthcoming, and rightfully so.

But seriously, WTF, this is the worst news I’ve heard in a long while. I only pray that those dead R.I.P and that this won’t be the end of the “Otaku” Akihabara I know.

agree with you double. fuckups like this should just go and die a lonely and painful death, don’t bring others into the equation.

    I am sad

it seems to me that the current world culture & lifestyle is flawed. when a person feels isolated & rejected by the world. becoming detached from society. hatred manifested, can become something potentially very dangerous. while most can differentiate right from wrong, some cannot. it is sad that now a favourite place for many will become notorious for all the wrong reasons.

*cough time to repost what I posted on Yukan blog*

According to Neogaf thread here http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=308895 . The supposedly attacker already posted on the image board 2ch a week before that there will be a stabbing spree at Akiba.

According to post #68 on neogaf. post #352 on 2ch was posted around an hour before the stabbing spree and post #353 onwards are the reactions towards the spree.

otaku = evil to the public again.. first it was porn freak with rape fantasies serial killer now stabbers, whats next?

  13. 13 double

I read the 2chan thread, and I’m rather shocked at the reactions towards the incident. Those people in 2chan are actually going about posting stuff such as 記念カキコ, which means posting on the thread for commemoration. What the hell is there to commemorate regarding such a tragedy?!

  14. 14 Endz

    @pp

according to some post on neogaf. He is not an otaku. TBS has the suspect saying “I came to Akiba to kill” “Everyone hates them, so it’s okay, right?”. And he came to Akiba all the way from Shizouka it seems.

  15. 15 Asuka

Like you, I also shudder to think how things would be different if this happened during my virgin trip to Akiba just last week. I think it’s about time that the government did something to deal with the increasing “loss of hope for the future” in Japanese youths today, because it will eventually become a bigger and bigger problem. For starters, getting psychological help should not be stigmatized (and I advocate this very strongly).

2ch, and it’s heinous offspring 4chan, are home to some of the weirdest people to ever log on to the interwebs..

  18. 18 Caitlin

Most people do end theirs…this incident is really rare. I feel awful about all this and to some extent shock but it makes me wonder why.

    double>>

記念 means both commemoration and memory. So what that board is, is probably most likely a board for one to remember the victims and to grieve.

  20. 20 double

Hmm, I think I misinterpreted that, but you should look at some of the other comments.
