MMO DRUAGA IS SO MUCH FRICKING FUN!!!

NOT!

There’s a whole lot of stuff that I can’t stand about the game.

One, lag. The players in Japan are probably all having lag-free fun, while I’m in Singapore lagging the daylights out in the town central. Getting out of the town central and into the wilderness gave me a headache.

Two, the graphics. They’re pretty unbelievable for a game so recent. Of course, I have never played any other Japanese MMORPGs before, so I can’t really say much about the average graphics standard.

Three, the freaking cluster on the screen. Everything cluttered and so messy that I often click on the wrong thing. The problem is that I can’t figure out how to make the interface neat.

Four, it’s so damn hard to get cash. The monsters drop loot that I’m unable to equip at all. And so, I sold the useless stuff and got a few copper coins, which is still a far way from buying decent equipment.

Five I’m level 6 and there’s only 1 skill I can learn so far, or so it seems. Everything is in moonspeak, so there might be more skills that I could have actually learned, but not know where and how to.

Six, the visibility. Only a limited distance in front of you is visible. Also, your teammates are only visible on the mini map, not the huge map. If you get separated, good luck in meeting up again.

And the list goes on and on…

Ever since I quit World of Warcraft, I never picked up anymore MMORPGs, until MMO Druaga. Hence, my standards of what an MMORPG should be like are that of WoW. That probably explains why I have a never-ending list of complaints towards this MMO.

I did have a little fun though. I managed to group with a soldier class character. Despite my pathetic Japanese, we could still somehow communicate, and we continued playing as a party for almost 2 hours. Travelling around was a pain in the arse, and the lag wasn’t helpful either. Still, it’s my first experience playing a game online that isn’t in Engish, so it was rather intriguing.

However, I doubt I’ll play it anymore, as I am probably unable to spend time on an MMO on a frequent basis. Of course, the factors that irritate me contribute to this decision too.

Look who’s in the game

For those who understand a little Moonspeak and have some spare time, you might want to try it out, since they don’t restrict the game to only Japanese IP addresses. You can download the game here. Who knows, you might actually like it despite what I have stated.

Ew… the graphics do look terrible…

Are the menus just that big or is the screen resolution low?

  3. 3 tj han

What job classes are there? And wtf, there is no such word as quitted.

  4. 4 zoku88

It’s a real game? I thought they were just making fun of games in general XD

    :blinks:

…those graphics are clearly around 8 years out of date. Who developed that game?

And you really should raise the game’s screen resolution if it’s possible.

Gah, thought at least Druaga as a J-MMO would be good…guess not. Maybe they should come out with a SEA version or something heh. No wait, that is a bad idea. Think GE.

Damn, the problem with the interface clutter was with the resolution. I never really had the habit of changing the resolution since I didn’t have to when I was playing WoW.

But even with the resolution changed, the graphics still sucks.

tj han > 4 classes. Solider, scout, druid and mage. And I didn’t realise there wasn’t such a word as quitted until you mentioned it >_>

Mark > GONZO X GONZO Rosso

lol, I won’t comment of your choice of character name.

It looks rather poor compare to other MMO, it would be alot better if their uses sprite imagines. It’s still in beta testing, just curious myself.

  11. 11 zaeris

Sorry I meant, is it still in beta testing phrase? or is that the final product?

  12. 12 double

It’s the final thing. And you don’t have to remind me how much I suck at coming up with names.
