Diablo II Is Nostalgic

Not too long after Blizzard revealed their diabolical scheme last Saturday, 28 June, Diablo III seems to be the talk of my class. When the school week once again began on Monday, the first thing that almost everyone began conversing about was the breaking news.

This better be released before I enter National Service!

Personally, I’ve been quite a Blizzard fanboy. I’ve played Diablo since the original, proceeding on to Diablo II for a couple of years, after which I left the RPG game for a brief while to play Warcraft III, and finally moving on to the money and time killer, World of Warcraft. All of this began when I was 10.

What surprised me was the number of Blizzard fans in my class. It turned out that more than 3/4 of my class actually played Diablo II before, and all of them loved it. Finally, something that majority, if not all my class agrees on.

During the break time of our first lesson of the Monday, we gathered around some guy’s laptop and watched the Diablo III gameplay trailer even though some of us had watched it countless times over the weekends. While the video went on, those who stood around made countless fanboy comments at every little single bit of detail, regarding the awesomeness and epic game play featured, myself included too.

This is a classic

That was Monday. On Tuesday, I spotted a Diablo II: Lord of Destruction icon on the laptop of the guy seated just beside me. Immediately, I copied the game over and began reliving the past. By noon, almost half the class had the game on their laptops, and 5 of us were already in a party slaying demons of the underworld.

The few hours of lesson time that we spent playing really brought back a whole trail of memories I had when I played the game nearly 4 years back. I never thought that I would be playing it yet again.

Looks like it’s going to be a busy day at school tomorrow. Slaying Hell’s minions, of course. What were you expecting? Paying utmost attention to lectures?

knowing blizzard, the game will most probably be released in 2043.

there’s ome funny diablo 2 screenshots on my hard disk from many moons ago, will post them up either tomorrow or the day after. do drop by if interested.

Yay for D3! I could still remember my sec 2 days, where everyday the moment school ended, I and a few friends will rush down to our usual lanshop and game the whole day away on D2.

Even on weekends it’ll be a 10am-10pm gaming sessions, training up multiple characters, rushing even more characters to hell level and mass farming the cows.

But like gordon said, knowing Blizzard, who knows how long till be before it’ll be release… In fact they might decide to pull the plug too like they did with SC: Ghost. You’ll never know… you’ll never know…

Never really touched Diablo, spent most of my time on CS 1.6 and Warcraft, with the occasional pinch of Starcraft.

May borrow D2 from my friend just to try it out though, just to see what’s all the hubbub about.

gordon> I’m looking forward to that post.

Hirito > They better not do that, or there’s going to be a worldwide riot.

C.I. > I suck at FPS and RTS.

    dKiWi > LIES!!!

I am soo excited about Diablo 3!!

I think I’ll play some D2 too now that I’m in the diablo mood.

  7. 7 double

Sakari > Haha, the diablo mood is contagious. Now, there’s more than 10 people in my class playing the game.

  8. 8 P-Meister

i certainly hope they release SC2 first, which has been announced a long time ago. i don’t like the sound of D3, i doubt it would be as epic as D2.

  9. 9 Caitlin

I was never really good at Diablo but my brother was. I was more a fan of Warcraft. Still, I’m looking forward to seeing what Blizzard does with Diablo 3. ^_^

  10. 10 double

    P-Meister > I hope D3 will be 214312% more epic than D2.

Caitlin > One thing I like about Blizzard’s releases are the in-depth lore featured. That alone makes the games worth playing.

Hurray! I also play D2 and my fave class is Necromancer. I hope that D3 will have an easier leveling system as leveling in D2 almost bored me to death. (In D2, I manage to rush through various scenes without being too high level).

PS: I think I have some problems with the site’s feed as my FeedDemon doesn’t seem to be able to receive updates from this site. >.< Hmm…I don’t think I got the wrong feed rss since I hit the square button that’s on the top right.
