In the latest issue of Dragon Age, there is news of a new figurine of Miyamoto Rei by Organic and the release date of the 5th volume.

In case the image above isn’t clear enough for you, it states that this Rei’s going to be roughly 1/8 scaled, scheduled for release this Autumn, and that the price has yet to be fixed.

I did some searching around and found out at GA Graphic that this figurine was actually on display at WF 2008 months ago. I wasn’t into Highschool of the Dead back then, and these events usually have an insane number of figurines, so it’s no surprise that I missed it out. Thankfully, it has yet to be released, or I might regret not having read the manga earlier.

The pose of the figurine’s really cool, with Rei landing an aerial stab right through the head of one of those undead fiends. It’s definitely much better than the previous Rei figurine released by Toyworks. Also, I definitely trust Organic’s production quality much more than Toywork’s.

Now, with the total of Miyamoto Rei figurines rising to 2, I have a question. When is there going to be a Saeko figurine release? Saeko’s definitely more popular than Rei. In this month’s Dragon Age character popularity ranking, she is ranked gloriously at 2nd, totally surpassing Rei, ranked at 8th. Is this not enough to warrant a figurine?

Alright, I shall stop here lest my fanboyism spirals out of control.

As for the manga, 9th September’s the date of the new volume release. It will feature Saeko on the cover (YAY!), and adding the fact that I’ve already the current 4 volumes on my shelf, there’s no reason why I’m not purchasing it. In fact, I’m looking forward to get my hands on it, even though I’ve already read the chapters.

This issue’s chapter of Highschool of the Dead happens to be yet another filler chapter, with the girls choosing various outfits for Rei when they were shopping mall. Alice, the loli of the group, even suggested that Rei dons a dog suit outfit so that she can go around without the zombies noticing that she’s human. Short, but really entertaining.

The next issue will reroute the readers back to the original plot, which isn’t a bad thing at all. Hopefully, I’ll be able to grab a copy of the September issue before stock runs out like it usually does.
