The latest Lupin III special, Sweet Lost Night, happens to have the story set in a tropical island the size of a tiny dot on the equator of the world’s map. Now, this miniature sunny islet has been featured a couple of times in fictional media. Cowboy Bebop has a Singaporean bounty hunter, and the last installment of Pirates of the Caribbean portrays Singapore as a pirate island.

Hey, I’m from New York City, and the Lupin specials that have featured New York always make me crack up because of the things they get right vs. the things they either got wrong by accident or decided to take liberties with on purpose for the sake of the plot. So it’s fun to read similar notes about how they hit or missed with sites in Singapore.
