After reading 0ne’s introduction to Freedom Formula, I knew that I just had to read it. After all, I fell in love on first sight with the mecha design ever since I spotted the figurines at STCC a couple of months ago. It’s great that Kinokuniya imported it in.

Unlike Japanese manga tankoubons, comic volumes are relatively thin, and I’m not particularly seasoned to that. Hence, it felt rather weird reading it, since the last time I ever read comics by the volume was back in primary school, more than 5 years ago.
I must admit though, the change from the regular monochrome to vividly coloured pages is more than welcomed. The fine details of the art were rather extraordinary as compared to what my usual reading diet, and the colours just make it more than delicious.

One thing I’m quite curious about is how the plot will end is a mere 5 volumes. Volume 1, despite the tasty art, somewhat lacks in the plot development department. If the next 4 volumes are going to be of similar thickness as that of volume 1, I’m thinking that it just might be a little challenging to expand and end the story with such a limited length. Of course, I really hope I’m wrong and that the next few volumes will blow my mind away.
The exosuits remind me a little of IGPX, although the IGPX mechas aren’t exactly portrayed similarly to the exosuits, but both are used for racing anyway.

Come to think of it, these exosuits quite resemble the Armsuits in Ghost in the Shell.

In any case, I’ve still not given up on pining for a purchasable figurine of those eye-candy exosuits. Well, considering a live-action movie scheduled for release, it definitely wouldn’t be a surprise if they really do release figurines.

“back in primary school, more than 5 years ago.” That was funny haha!
Only 5… double is youthful. Anyway, I like the mecha designs too. We need more properly designed mecha shows. Code Geass and the other ones on the market now have horrible mecha designs.
LOL, I don’t think of myself as youthful.
Anyway, I agree that many of the mecha desgins out there are really crappy. It’s either the rinse and repeat kind of designs, or designs that are just plain horrible in their own sense.
you make me sound old
With this, IFS would be famous. They would get the big break they need if this proves popular enough.
Not to mention putting Singapore on the comic creation map.
I’m looking for a racing game I belive is on games cube. I am not quite sure but it does involve racing in exosuits. If anybody could help me out that would be fantastic!
