With the OP of the anime adapation of Tales of the Abyss being BUMP’s Karma, I was hoping for the ED to be something done by BUMP too. Hence, when I learned that the ED, Bouken Suisei, will feature the vocals of Enomoto Kurumi, I felt a little disappointment.

However, on closer inspection of the song’s background, I realised that BUMP is actually somewhat involved. Fujiwara Motoo, who writes all of BUMP’s tunes and almost all the lyrics, plays the role of a co-producer of the song. Together with MOR, whom I have no idea who that is, they’ll compose the tune as well as craft out the lyrics.
There’s a temporary website set up just for the sake of the song. Never have I seen something like this before, since details of theme songs for an anime are updated on the anime’s website.
One thing I love about BUMP is how their songs are actually stories. Each and every one of them has a unique flair, and each time I listen to them, it’s as though I’m reading through a novel paired with awesome background music. With part of the responsibility of Bouken Suisei lying upon the shoulders of Fuji-kun, I’m really looking forward to my first listen.
It’s a pity that his vocals would not be gracing this song. Still, I’m contented with Fuji-kun working behind the scenes. If only BUMP would release a single towards the end of this year, I’d be overjoyed!
All that’s left now is to wait for the first airing of Tales of the Abyss on 3rd October.
LOL, I’m commenting for the wrong reasons – the art you used caught my eye! It reminds me of this artist (I guess you could call her a doujin artist) called Kurot.
