Imouto-chan infects me (a lad who once dismissed anime as escapist entertainment for people with a hopeless boob-and-blood fetish) with the anime bug, we share a strong interest in anime (albeit in different genres) for a few years, then her passion for anime ebbs away as she mutates into a NEWS fangirl and soon I'm left all alone in otakudom. I suspect that after I pass the anime bug onto someone else my own interest will start downshifting.
