Puchi Eva DVD

Come 11 March 2009, the Puchi Eva DVD will be released.

I suppose there are some online sites to watch Puchi Eva in its 3D CG animated form, but I can’t really be bothered to search, especially after reading some of the 4-komas that are published in Shonen Ace. It’s supposedly a school comedy featuring super deformed characters.

As much as I love Evangelion, I find what I’ve read so far pretty unimpressive. I tried reading the 4-komas, but soon gave up and skipped over to the main stuff I buy Shonen Ace for, such as Mirai Nikki.

Anyway, like almost 99% of the Japanese DVD releases, there will be the limited edition, as well as the normal edition. Both editions will have 2 discs. Disc 1 contains 9 episodes, while 2 contains 15 episodes.The normal edition is priced at 7350 yen, and the limited edition at 8190yen. It seems like the only difference is the limited edition figurine, so I wonder what kind of figurine it is, and how far it justifies paying slightly more.

To be honest, I’m not getting this DVD. In fact, my flame for anime related purchases seems to be dying out. Even my latest trip to Japan had me spending only a little on manga and a couple of anime CDs. I find that I’ve spent much more on normal non-anime music instead. Even my latest otaku related purchases have been nothing but reading materials.

It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve pursued anime and manga as a hobby, so I’m guessing this is one of the points where one begins to slow down from the craze and take it much easier on both oneself and the wallet.

Anyone else who has experienced, or is currently going through a similar experience too?

    Yeah, I’m going through the same slow down — though I’m not sure if its voluntary. ^^;;

    Well on the brightside, there’s so much more than just limiting yourself to anime/manga and that only. I’d like to say that after a long period of impulsive fanboying/fangirling, the slow down means that people have become more discerning in choosing what to do. I mean, we’ve only got 24 hours a day. Unfortunately. D:

    Have you listened to Kimaguren? YOU SHOULD.

    Hmm, I’ve listened to some of Kimaguren’s songs such as Life and Aenai Uta, but they don’t really leave an impression. Looks like I require a few more listens before I can make a decision to add them to my regular playlist.

    I’ve started buying more non-anime CDs too. Like those by Perfume. Maybe one of these days, I’ll get Laraku’s CDs and DVD concerts as well, depending on how good it is.
