Logically, it really shouldn’t be referred to as freebies, since the cost is included together with each Shonen Ace purchase. But that shouldn’t really matter, should it?

I’ve not been checking Shonen Ace’s website for quite a while, but I still grab my usual dosage of it when the monthly issue gets released at the end of each month. Just yesterday, I picked up the latest issue, totally not aware of the freebie included. It was only after I made payment when I was told to pick up my supplement item at the Japanese book counter.

It turned out to be a Haruhi photo stand that also functions as a digital clock. I’m not much of a Haruhi fan, but since my room doesn’t have any clocks, I might as well put the freebie to good use. Sadly, the clock isn’t working for me. Damn it.

When I got home, I unwrapped my copy and began browsing through. The first page features Shonen Ace 14th anniversary, while the second features the upcoming freebies that come with the following issues.

The only other decent thing is the Haruhi bust, and even so, I’m not interested

Wow, great. 5 months of Haruhi stuff. I was expecting to maybe get an Evangelion goodie or two, since the second Rebuild movie was announced just recently. Looks like I’m going to be disappointed for the next 4 issues, but I’ll still buy them anyway. After all, I actually read the serialisations within, instead of dumping the magazine aside and keeping the freebie. I have to admit that I used to do that, which is really quite embarrassing.

Anyway, this reminds me that I’ve yet to purchase this month’s Dragon Age. I wonder if Kino still has it stocked.
