Yikes! Zombies!

The demo version of Left 4 Dead has been out since 11th November, but it was only until yesterday when I began playing it. Just 2 stages and I find myself hooked. It’s the game any zombie fan would desire, especially with the drought of zombie first-player shooter games out in the market.

I’ve been a fan of zombies since quite a way back. Zombie flicks have always been my preference of horror media. Nothing’s more frightening than monsters that are so similar yet different from us humans.

The demo restricts the user to the first 2 stages of the game, and while it’s a little too brief, I would first compliment Valve for the multi-player mode in the demo. It has definitely increased the enjoyment one derives from the demo. Being able to slay the undead together with 3 other friends is so much more entertaining than merely having the A.I as teammates.

I’m hoping that the official release comes with a comprehensive arsenal of weapons. However, I doubt there’s going to be any chainsaws as all the weapons in the demo are firearms. Chainsaws are stupid weapons anyway, so it’s all good. Unless you plan on dying in an epic manner. Currently, my favourite weapon’s the shotgun. Although it takes a long time to reload as compared to using a rifle or submachine gun, the satisfaction of seeing the undead being ripped apart, flying yards from the impact. That alone makes the game worth my time.

I was hoping for the game to be more realistic, following the rule of humans joining the horde some time after they received wounds from a zombie.  However, that would probably make the game impossible to play, since the massive zombie swarms sprint like an Olympic athlete who’s had too much to drink. Also, let’s not forget the ninja zombies that leap around like grasshoppers, as well as the other special zombies. Oh well, at least realism is substituted by entertainment. Nothing can be more breathtaking than facing hordes of rotting flesh bolting towards you from every angle.

Someone needs to go on a diet

Want something even more exciting? When the hordes of zombies make a mad rush towards you and your gang, shoot your allies down and watch the swarms devour them. You can’t imagine how hard I laughed. However, you would probably only want to try that when you’re playing with the A.I.

I’m getting the game when it’s officially released this Tuesday, 18th November. Then, it’ll be Zombie Hunting Time. All I need to do now is to convince my classmates to get the game so that we can cleanse the land of zombies while the lecturer conducts his lesson.

So, is anyone interested in joining the crusade against the rotten flesh?

Eh, this game got the bling-bling, but the real gameplay of Survival Crisis Zero is quite a wall to climb over.

This game sure has great gameplay, a lot really fun to play!

Are you buying it for PC or Xbox 360? I’ve already preloaded it on Steam so I’ll be ready to play as soon at it comes out.
