though as for downloading games I do also see nothing wrong with this at first either. I mean there are several games I’ve played wich had a verry good sounding descripton, and game trailer. but once you start playing the game goes flat after a few levels and is just a pice of crap. so beeing able to try out the games makes a person less lerry to try a new game. but again I think it goes back to once you determin the game is one you really like you should go and pay for it.

now for the part of your post I don’t aggree with, and this just my option. but comparing games like WOW and Maplestory together seem to be making a mockery of bouth games as I don’t think they where intented to be played by the same kind of people. so that in mind one didn’t win while the other failed. they just are targeting diffent people who have differnt tastes in games.
Also bashing your friend for playing maplestory over wow I think is wrong. now the statement of him saying the free games is better that one is debate able as he is sending a monthy fee to his game of choice, just like you are. (even if in his case it’s not required to play) so you could bash him for the fact he is still paying for his game and claiming his is better becasue one doesn’t pay. but still in relation to your orginal argument that to many people are too cheap becaue they don’t pay, and this guy is. bashing him over paying for a game seems to counter your orginal arugment. even if you don’t like his taste in games.

I have some friends in the game design course, and they have decent taste in games. Hence, I thought majority of the guys in the course would be the same

Endless > I’m only insulting just because it’s Maplestory, and majority of Maplestory gamers irritate me to no end. Talk to me about any other game and you wouldn’t hear a word of insult from me.

Anyway, I don’t think I’m a cheapskate gamer. I buy games that I love, merchandise included (e.g. Dungeon Siege, Final Fantasy VII, Neverwinter Nights) True, there’s just too many games out there and I believe that not everyone’s able to afford that whole lot of wonderful games in the market (while others’ probably NOT even available in the stores).

Totally hate those who want things for FREE… and want it to be bug-free too. I believe spending money buying the actual game would be a lot better than sitting there complaining every single day about every single problems you’re facing with a cracked version. Personally I would occasionally download games to try them out but when things just didn’t work out the way it’s supposed to be, I would just trash it into the bin and look for another. HOWEVER.. I have to admit that there are times when I really felt like ranting my heart out. There’s this Chinese game that I have been looking around for years (I have the original one but the disc got scratched i could no longer play it)… it’s no longer available in the market.. no longer on sales at online stores either. So downloading’s the only way to get it. After having downloaded the game 6 times from 6 different places.. I wanted to give up. None of them worked. *faints*

And LOL at any gamer who claims Maplestory as the BEST game ever. My classmates are trying hard to hack into the school wireless system to play WOW while we have a bunch of juniors hacking into the school wireless system just to play Maplestory.. and they are what? Games Design students. If they seriously think MS is the BEST game ever.. I honestly should just tell them straight into the face that they don’t belong here. (I’d been playing MS for 3 years and frankly speaking, for the whole 3 years, I never once enjoyed my online life cos every other day there’s always a nuisance in-game). I officially quit a year ago and find myself at ease. No more witnessing of kiddies attempting to pick a fight over something so small. No more dealing with young bimbo girls bragging about how much A-cash they have bought.
