Furu Anime Panikku

The number of replies my past 2 post garnered have far surpassed my expectations. Let’s focus on the cosplay post. While the replies on the entry itself have been rather dull with merely a few flames, the thread has been rather active. I was expecting it to die within 3 days after it began, but what the heck, I was wrong. While it isn’t as active as compared to when it began last week, the heart-warming heat of the flames and drama still lives on.

I remember a particular line in one of the campfire songs I used to sing a few years back when I was a scout.

It only takes a spark to get the fire going

In this instance, it’s the golden truth. All I did was to light a match and before I knew it, the drama, along with the flames grew larger and larger. After which, all I had to do was sit aside and watch while others dump fuel, oil and all kinds of volatile stuff. What’s entertaining is how people spend their time typing replies to argue among themselves, while I check the thread for some laughs during study breaks.

Drama has always been an irreplaceable sector of the Internet, alongside trolling and flaming. It’s everywhere; forums, blogs, IRC and whatnot. In such a dimension where such issues are common, I’m amazed at the population of overly sensitive people in cyberspace. It’s simply because of such people that flames can grow and drama can unfold. Now, I’m sure someone’s going to comment about how insensitive I am. I was never sensitive in the first place.

Online dramas are awesome places to find variations of people. Hypocrites (which everyone is), the care-bears (which are often hypocrites), trolls (WoW anyone?) and the rest of the all-star cast. All kinds of people whom you might not get the chance to meet in real life. One of my favourite variations are the people who post without reading what has been posted.

Back to the post. I was actually planning to use a certain Shana cross-dresser instead of Shinji, but I decided against it since it might stray along the borderlines of racism. With a couple local bloggers arrested for racism, I certainly don’t want to be next up to deal with the law on such a matter.  It was pure coincidence that the photo happened to be in my CF card because I was trying to take a picture of a cosplayer when the Shinji cosplayer popped into the frame. Hence, you can see that I wasn’t aiming for a personal attack, but rather, the opportunity for drama presented itself before me. With the whole rage regarding May’n’s autograph session going on at that point of time, I simply couldn’t resist.

So, some people like Hinano say that the post was retarded. I’d like to think so too, since I did that out of boredom. Most of the things I do out of boredom are retarded anyway. Maybe I should have read more chapters of that Python tutorial book instead, but that wouldn’t have been equally as entertaining.

Anyway, I think I shall take a break from sparking up drama to study a little while playing Left 4 Dead. Also, someone needs to start some Kowtow drama. I’m anticipating that eagerly.
