Unlike last year’s EOY where I only arrived 4pm and took a mere 7 photos, I actually spent some decent time at this year’s event, and took more photos of cosplayers too. Media passes were given out too, so I’m not complaining.
For some reason or another, most of my pictures turned out fairly decent on the camera display, but the moment I checked them on the computer, they were quite blurish and horrible. Some of those were the ones with a better angle or poses, so it was quite a disappointment. Darn, I should really invest in a external flash if I want to take decent pictures in future indoor events.
Anyway, unlike previous cosplay events where I would go trigger happy and shoot just about anything that’s in costume, I held back this time, only taking what caught my interest.
The Burst Angel pair is one of the first few cosplayers I spotted. They did a pretty good job with the guns and costumes

I can’t remember how many times I’ve seen this uniform when I was in Shibuya, so I was quite surprised that she was from Hitman Reborn. After this pose, she actually posed another for me, but I was checking my photos instead so it turned into a slightly awkward situation. Sorry, I would like to have taken some shots of the other pose too >_<

Other worthy mentions include the insanely huge Naruto group that did a kickass stage performance. While I’m no Narutard, that’s definitely the best cosplay stage performance I’ve seen as of yet. Kudos to them.

Also, to the guy who cosplayed Shinji at AFA, if you read this, I’m just going to say that your Vampire Knight cosplay was rather alright. Looks like some flaming has awoken your senses. And who said flaming wasn’t constructive?

Did you practice the 1/focal length rule? And yeah, sometimes SSS can’t stabilize some shots. Which is why, when in doubt, shoot in bursts. Alternatively, invest in an external flash, since you like to cover events and portraits.

The cosplayers that caught my eyes while I was browsing through your gallery are the ones who did the Noahs from D.Gray-man. Totally love their make-up and costumes =D For the first time in my life, I’m actually starting to appreciate some of our local cosplayers’ efforts.
