Unfortunately, the profound effect on "normal psychological behaviour" of Yukiteru would be self-indoctrination, a change of set behavioural patterns that are more suited to a civilized society, to a more aggressive, "beastial"-like ones, and ultimately, landing a far worse outcome in the future. That said, are there tankoubon versions for the two series you've read?
