Even though the first 3 episodes of Major Season 5 covered some development between the 2 lover birds, there was something that was sorely lacking; Baseball action. It’s not all that bad though, since episode 5 really made me feel like I was watching season 3 again, which happens to be my favourite season of them all. To think that it’s only just the beginning of the match between the All-stars and Young Japan team.

It’s great to see many familiar faces on the field again. Unlike season 4 where I could never remember the other American players, I actually remembered most of the Kaidou players. I couldn’t have forgotten them, especially not after the most memorable match in the entire series between Seishuu and Kaidou.

I love it when the team Goro’s on gets trashed really badly in the first few innings, and eventually turn the tables and emerge victorious. I guess that’s what Major’s mostly about, isn’t it? To me, watching the tables turn is the most entertaining things when it comes to sports. It’s even better than watching a team get steamrolled real bad.

Still, despite the praises I have for season 5, I cannot resist the urge to critisise the new OP. It’s a ear torture. What’s up with the hip-hop beat and the rap-like vocals? And the cheer at the end’s really lame.

I’ve always liked the music in Major, never skipping the OPs or EDs. Even the OP in season 4, which I considered my least favourite, got pretty decent after a couple of episodes. The OP for the current season is full of trash. I hope they change it once the season hits 13 episodes. In the meantime, I’ll just skip the OP.
