Geez, I really think there’s something wrong with the vision of some people who think I’m female. Those people desperately need a form of corrective vision.
Just yesterday, I was standing in queue for dinner, wearing a t-shirt and a pair of bermudas. When it came to my turn, the attendant asked “Hi Miss, what do you want to buy?” in Chinese. For a moment, I looked around, fearing that I might have stolen someone’s position in the queue. It turned out that I was the only person left in queue for that store. Great…
That’s not the first time such a thing has happened. When you live in flats, you’ll often meet your neighbours while using the lift. In that brief enclosure, people happen to possess the habit of making some small talk to be polite, such as “How are you?”, “Have you eaten?” or even “Wow, your child has grown so much”. This happens even when they don’t even know you too well.
Let me share with you a small bit of one conversation that went on when a neighbour whom I’ve never really seen around, my mother and I were in the lift.
Neighbour: Wow, your daughter has grown a lot.
Mother: Er…
Me: *thinks* WTF? Daughter?
And the lift arrives at the ground level, ending this awkward conversation. It doesn’t end here. A few weeks later, we meet in the lift and the same neighbour repeats the exact line, again.
Seriously, does she have any deficiencies in sight or hearing? For those who have met me in real life, or even saw some images of me, you would know the fact that I look nothing like a female, and that my voice’s rather deep. Surely my voice doesn’t sound female! Alright, I may have hair that’s a tad longer than the average male, but that isn’t supposed to instantly transform me into looking female. Also, it’s not like I’m wearing anything that remotely resembles a skirt.
One would be forgiven if you mistake Noda (the guy with the brown long sleeved top) from Radwimps in this PV as a female, but me? What’s wrong with the world?!?!

Some people are just blind I think. I sympathize with you. I have experienced the same thing, a few times, well, more than a few. My hair are longer than usual man hairstyle, but that’s all.
I fail to see how they mistaken you for a girl. The hair not doubt is slightly long (by any standards it still looks short), but not to the extent of being mistaken for a girl outright. Sheesh.. they should go see an optician and get their eyes checked.
