Spot The Obvious Difference

This is pretty easy, isn’t it?

You can now label me a fanboy of the fruit and/or Rei

It was a choice between either this or the Android G1 anyway, and I don’t really like phones with chins.

Recently, my Toshiba 803t has been coughing up a handful of problems such as not being able to get a signal and make calls. Each time that happens, I miss calls and smses. The only way to regain its’ function as a phone is to reboot. As such, I’ve for a new mobile companion.

I’ve been using my iPod Touch since June last year, and there’s no doubt that I’m pleased with it does. Well, mostly, if it wasn’t for the need to sync to iTunes. I do know that the iPhone is pretty much the iPod Touch with the additional function. Now that I have 2 devices with functions that are nearly similar, wouldn’t it be weird to carry the pair around?

My intention was to let the iPod Touch remain as my mobile media player, while using the iPhone as a phone and Internet device. That way, even if one runs dry of juice, I still have the other to fall back on for on-the-go entertainment.

This means on-the-go MSN, push email, RSS and whatnot. However, being the lazy guy I am, I doubt I’ll be blogging on the go. Still, I might try Twitter for fun since a classmate sent me a Twitter invitation. With connectivity on the go, I’m guessing that life will be so much more convenient. Sigh, I’m such a technology-reliant bugger.

The only problem with this combination would be the weight, but hey, an extra 100 grams in the front pocket wouldn’t really make a difference. In fact, it’ll probably be the same as carrying my previous phone. I’m going to miss the Toshiba 803T though, due to the お電話です and メールをご覧ください really cool preset ringtones. It was great having you around buddy!

I was wondering, how many people actually prefer having an all-in-one phone, and how many actually prefer carrying multiple devices, each serving a sole function?

I was reading an article on Gizmodo regarding quality megapixels, and I totally agree that there’s simply no point in spending so much on a phone that has 5 or even 8 megapixels due to crappy sensors. Still, the masses continue getting those grossly over-hyped camera phones anyway.

I’m interested to find out how many like-minded souls there are.

Oh.. i currently have ipod touch too. Also planning to get Iphone… still pricey though T_T.
if I do get the iphone, I plan to only carry the ipod touch around when I have a bag or iphone juice is low. I prefer a less bulky pocket ^^

Whoo, you’ve landed yourself with an iPhone. Have fun with iPhone Apps function.

I think I might get an HTC Dream, because that’s a Google Android phone. I refer to this guy’s blog for your reference.

Im planning to get an Ipod Touch instead the Iphone, because I already have a cellphone and I think I wont use the Iphone as a cellphone too much (I only want it as media player), but my friends suggest me to buy the Iphone.

Used to have an ipod touch 1st gen, sold it with my psp to get cowon A3. Anime on the go without conversion required. Still waiting for the ultimate phone with HD playback, supports 99 video formats, has at least 5 MP cam with xenon flash(carls lenses pls).

Congrats on the iphone, fun phone.

    Gah.

I’m still using a Nokia 3310. As long as a phone can call and send SMSes, its a good phone to me.

This means your phone bill will be pretty much skyrocketing lol. Their internet data packages are expensive…

    Leefe > Not really. I’m getting 50GB of data/month for a fixed 28 bucks.

i’ll agree with that last statement. i’ve yet to use my camera phone, i don’t watch youtube on it, i don’t check documents, really all i’ve done is surf the web, text, chat, and you know….use it as a phone.

also, i don’t understand why gizmondo needed a whole article that long to explain the simple concept, smaller sensor will always equal crappier quality. 6mp slr trumps 12mp compact trumps 15mp camera phone. basically trying to squeeze more dots on a smaller surface. you don’t need to know why, how, or anything else about it (even though i do), i think most people can understand a concept of size….i hope.
