Hey K-ON!, While You’re At It, Endorse This Too

We’ve all witnessed the “miracles” invoked by K-ON!, such as a surge in the sales of a certain left-handed Fender Japan Bass model via the brainwashing of otaku minds, and Fender Japan laughing all the way to the bank. Should I be envious of the wealth or the loaded customers who bought a left-handed bass that costs more than 70,000 yen without any hesitation, or should I be laughing my ass off at this phenomenon while feeling sorry for the soon-to-be dust collecting neglected instruments? This is such a pity.

Well, since K-ON! has done it’s fair share of instrumental endorsements such as the guitars and amps, should it try to make a milk the cash cow further by endorsing other merchandise. Not everyone who watches the anime is rich enough to run out and grab a instrument costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Thus, to let everyone join in the fun of buying whatever merchandise that appears in the anime for even a split second, I recommend magazines. Music magazines like GiGS.

MOE Poisoning

I see Moe as a substance that is consumed for sinful pleasure. It’s like all the junk food out there. Much of that, but not all, tastes pretty good, but too much of it would just lead to some sort of addiction to it. Soon, you’ll find yourself deciding to shun as much of the other stuff as possible.

Either Yui Must Rock, Or I Must Really Suck At The Guitar

I know it’s anime, but I still find it unbelievable.

There, you have Yui.

She started on the guitar like sometime before the mid-year exams, which should be sometime around May. Summer break’s in August. That’s about 3 months of playing the guitar without any musical background except the castanet in kindergarten.

I Blame The First Fullmetal Alchemist Anime Adaptation!

My first contact with FMA was via the first anime adaptation which was airing on local TV 4 to 5 years back. Yes, at that time, I still watched TV. The first thing that caught my attention was the opening sequence which featured “UNDO” by Cool Joke. At that time, I was new to the world of anime and the like. Hence, it was no surprise that I devoured nearly all the anime I came into contact with. FMA was no exception.

I began following the local airing of FMA for a couple of weeks before I decided to get my ass off staring at the TV and position myself facing the computer screen instead. The few episodes that I watched on TV were more or less the more exciting ones of the entire anime, so the series left quite an impression on me. I started reading the manga.

When It Doesn’t Really Matter Anymore

Recently, I accidentally dropped my iPhone while I was getting out of the car. It landed smacking directly on the ground, quite a few battle scars to the black back of my phone. Strangely, the Apple logo was spared. Those scars would would look good on the faces of Kenshin and Sousuke, but definitely not on my phone.

The instant my phone dropped, my expression was a toned down version of this image

For the first time, I picked up my phone, checked it was still functional, and moved on without giving it much of a second look. From past experiences, I would remain flustered for some time after any gadget of mine gets physically damaged, thinking of ways to try and reduce the damage marks.

Something has changed, slightly. And it’s not only my attitude to the condition of phones, but to other stuff  too.
